police arrested Henry Lee Johnson of 725 Beaumont Ave for allegedly beating his 22 month old stepson with his llists. Johnson is said to have visibly bruised the child on his face. Police served a warrant from! Horry County, S. on Eddie Maurice Harrington of 1917 Edgewood charging him with the seduction of Cynthia McLauchlin of 524 Tarleton Ave, Police issued warrant Erom Myrtle Beach police on Harrington at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burlington police said that the incident involving the McLauchlin girl and Harrington occurred in Myrtle Beach on the July 3D. Harrington is to appear in Myrtle Beach for trail on the charge on Jan. 4.

Both youths involved in the incident are 17 years of age and are students at Williams High School. The warrant for Harrington's arrest states that he promised the McLauchlin girl to marry her hefore the seduction took place. Police said that he has been released on $1,000 bond snding the hearing. The warrant for Harrington's arrest was signed by Miss McLauchlin. Sellars School on Rosenwald Street wag reported broken into at approximately 30 o'clock Saturday after ion.

Haley, who was not known at the time to be an escaped convict from a Ro wan County prison camp. Chief Garner said that scuffle with Haley preceeded tne arrest. After uie convict was subdued and brought to police headquarters, it was found that he was an escapee.

Police have charged him with resisting arrest. Haley Is said to have been serving time for a similar! charge.
