wnero 'she wilt so- by the sea. lf both of happi; parts; of Motor Federation Congrat- ixlated on Becdut ZidgTisla-tlon, President, Robert P. the Pennsylvania Motor Federation, Is being congratulated.on all sides over the great victory (rained by that organization in the result ot the recent Legislation at Harrisburff where the Sproul bill has passed both the Legislature and Senate and is sure in. due course of-time to provide Pennsylvania with the beat series of automobile highways possessed by any State in the Union. The Sproul bill provides eventually the state will spend $50,000,000, on the building- of a highways throughout 'the Commonwealth, i Of course, It will take several years to set the scheme in working- order and it will be necessary to await action of the next Legislature 'on -but.

there is every thatvhdw that the work has been started that it will be continued till every mile of road within itbe borders will be as good as they are In'Other States. The establishment 'of tho new hlgh- commission will be the opening wedge for tho plan of generally improving the State Highways, and It will mako about $4,000,000. available at once for the building- of good roads. The Interesting point in is that air the work which has been, dona far will, re-, 1 a etUn ment in the roads of Pennsylvania has been done through the efforts of the Pennsylvania Motor Federation, and it is to that organization which all credit roust be Riven. Had it not been for the work of the officers and members of the Pennsylvania Motor Federation, there, would have been practically nothing done for Highway, improvement.

Before the recent sessio nof the Legislature assembled at Harrisburg, the political leaders of the State were inclined to laugh at the idea of the demands the-motorists for a system of improved highways, but -when the Pennsylvania- Motor Federation got to work in every vounty and township of the thjnss took a different complexion and tremendous pressure which was brought to bear on the members of tho Legislature showed them -that back of the Motor Federation was a power that could not bo defied. It was a splendid lesson on the benefits of organization and one that should result in every automobile club and every, cutomobile owner affiliating with, the Pennsylvania Motor Federation.
