Hass, 20, of 95 Woodland way, Piedmont, who is presumed drowned after his sailboat capsized Saturday off Goleta in Southern California. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew T. Hass Jr.

of the Woodland Way address and was a junior at the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in electronics. His sister, Claire, 'said he and a girl had been sailing in TEACHER Memorial Sunday for Ruth Wuerth Memorial services will be held Sunday for Ruth Wuerth, 73, a retired 1 Richmond teacher and leader in the field of education for. handicapped children, who died Tuesday. Miss Wuerth joined the Richmond school district in 1926, became general elementary school supervisor in 1943, and supervisor of education for physically handicapped children in 1950. She retired in 1958.

Long active in groups aiding the education of handicapped children, she was a director of the Contra Costa County Easter Seal Society. Miss Wuerth developed a- number of innovative teaching programs while with the school district. She was a native of Kansas and a' longtime resident of Berkeley. She was a member of the Northbrae Community Church of Berkeley, and the California State Retired Teachers Association. She was a past president of the Soroptimist Club of Richmond and a member of the Celestia Chapter, No.

257, Order of the Eastern Star of Reedley. Family services will be held tomorrow. 5. Oakland Municipal Court Judge D. W. Brobst, who signed the original search warrant authorizing the raid, dismissed a charge of possession of marijuana for sale. But Brobst retained the other two counts of possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics.

Two other persons arrested at 6024 Ascot Drive, Robert Matthews, 22, and Elizabeth Cantor, 21, were also held to answer. They are free on bail of $3,000 each. Interment will be in Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond. Orra C. Hyde Jr. Orra C. Hyde, 74, retired San Francisco stock broker died Tuesday following a long illness.

Mr. Hyde, a resident of Lafayette, was graduated from the University of California i in 1920 after studying a year at the Sorbonne. As a member of the UC Glee Club, Mr. Hyde spent three months on a concert tour of the Orient prior to his graduation. He worked for 25 years in the securities business followed by 15 years as an executive for a wool processing and importation business.

He had been in retirement for the past 15 years. He was a member of the California Historical Society, Zeta Psi Fraternity and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by a son, Orra C. Hyde, III, of Lafayette; a daghter, Cynthia Hyde Mulvany of San Francisco, and a sister, Mariel Hyde O'Brien of Woodside. Services will be held at 2 p.m.

Ernest G. Simon, a long-time Oakland surgeon who died in 1949. At her request, no funeral was held. Mrs. Simon operated one of the nation's largest pear orchards at Sams Valley, 18 miles from Medford, Ore.

She took over the Pelton Orchard from her first husband, Horace Ish Pelton, a prominent Rogue River Valley cattleman and rancher. She was a resident here since 1925 and was a life member of the Berkeley City Club and the Ebell Club and was a member of the Alameda County Medical Association Auxiliary and other organizations. She had travelled extensively and wrote of her trips. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Pelton Lyons of Oakland.

Mrs. Simon died Sept. 8 at her home at 5650 Ocean View Drive. Defense attorney Richard Hodge has accused prosecutor Thomas Norman of trying to "stack the deck" against "Los Siete," the six Latino youths accused of killing San Francisco policeman Joseph Brodnik.
