Smith, born in Ireland, came to Brooklyn 60 years ago. As a young woman she was active in the various women's sodalities of St. James R. C. Church in the downtown section of the borough.

Her husband, Peter Smith, who was employed by the Arbuckle Sugar Refining Company, died many years ago. She had lived in Windsor Terrace three years. Surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Esther Rauchut; a son.

Charles Kellet, and five grandchildren. Pvt. Joseph Louis Rauchut, stationed at Fort Dix, N. Vivian and Dolores Rauchut, Dorothy McDonald and Arline Sandhoff. Sgt.

Matthew Coneys, son of Mrs. Mary A. Coneys of 2656 E. 18th ho was an outstanding athlete at Brooklyn Prep and St. John's University, was one of 20 U.

S. Army officers and men killed Sept. 21 in the crash of an army transport plane near Calcutta. India, it was learned yesterday. Official verification of his death was received by his mother on Friday.

Sergeant Coneys, who was born In Brooklyn, was a graduate of Brooklyn Prep, where he starred in football, basketball and track. While at St. John's, from which he was Graduated in June, 94l, he was a member of the varsity track team, editor of the Year Book and the college magazine St. John's Analyst and was president of the Vincentian Society. He was vice regent of the Blgma Chi Upsilon fraternity.

He enlisted in the air corps In Sergeant Coneys' father, the late Matthew M. Coneys, who was deputy surveyor of customs, died eight years ago. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, Sgt. John J. Coneys of the S.

Air Force, stationed at Maxwell Field, Ala. A memorial mass will be offered at 8 am. Tuesday at St. Mark's R.C. Church, Sheepshead Bay.
