Missionary p.m. Young people's up in every city. And there was so great abundance of wheat, that it was equal to the sand of thfe sea, and the plenty exceeded measure. And before the famine came, Joseph had two sons born: whom Aseneth the daughter of Putiphare priest of- Heliopolis bore unto him- And he called the name of the first-born, Manasses saying: God hath made me to forget all my labors, and my fathers house. And he named the second- Ephraim, saying: God hath made me to grow in the land of my poverty.

Now when the seven years of the plenty or foot In all the land of Egypt. And he turned his name, and called him in the Egyptian tongue, the saviour of the world. And he gave him to wife Aseu-eth the daughter of Putiphare priest of Heliopolis. Then Joseph went out to the land of Egypt: (Now he was thirty years old when he stood before king Pharao), and he went round all the countries of Egypt. And the fruitfulness of the seven years came: and the com being bound up into sheaves was gathered together into the barns of Egypt.

And all the abundance of grain was laid And again Pharao said to Joseph: Behold. I have appointed thee over the Whole land of Egypt. And he took his ring from his own hand, and gave It into his hand: and he pat upon him a robe of silk, and pot a chain of gold about his neck. And he made him go up into his second chariot, the crier proclaiming that all should bow their knee before him, and that they should know he was made governor over the whole land of Egypt. And the king said to Joseph: I am Pharao: without thy commandment no man shall move hand Weeldy Bible Comment OLD TIME PENTECOSTAL VDVAIL at the PENTECOSTAL CHURCH of GOD 540 Williams Road, Alisal Evangelist CHRISTINE BAKER Services Nightly (Except Monday) 7:30 P.M.

Sabbath school. a EVERYONE WELCOME! APOSTOLIC CHURCH OF GOD IN JE8US NAME Womans Club. Lincoln Avenue Hartnell Will Offer 'Brush-up' Courses For Office Workers Brush-up courses in secretarial and clerical work will be possible at Hartnell college during the spring semester. Dean Claud F. Addison of the occupational division at the college announced today.

Demands for office workers now are greater than the college can supply with regular students, Mr. Addison said. To help ease this shortage, regular college classes are being opened again to adults who need to brush-up on their secretarial skills. Adults will be able to enter classes at the level where they are now able to work, Mr. Addison said.

They may then progress at their own rate of speed and possibly take two classes during the semester in such subjects as typing and shorthand. The number of courses open to adults is not, restricted, Mr. Addison said. The courses include such subjects as busines mathematics, business English, accounting, office machines, duplicating and dictating machines, typing, shorthand or stenography, business law, salesmanship, and filing. Regular registration for the second semester will be Jan.

22 and 23. Adults will register as special students, Mr. Addison said. 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' Numbers 31, and especially to Deuteronomy 2:34, in which you will see that Moses did not regard the Commandment as absolute against every circumstance; though I hope that neither you nor I would justify such wholesale slaughter of women and, 'little ones' because it is in the Bible. There are two sorts of people: The one sort, typified by the good 'American citizen, and the principles of Ameridan democracy, believe in a society of law and order, in which men live peaceably with one another, respecting one anothers rights and liberties; the other sort, typified by gangsters and aggessors, are willing and eager to kill and destroy, if they can thereby serve their own ends.

For the former sort to do nothing to prevent killing and destruction would be, in my judgment, not to follow the spirit of the teaching of Jesus, but to make themselves accessories to the crimes of others. Should the guards who shot and killed the wofild-be assassinator of President Truman have obeyed the Commandment, allowing that man to go ahead and kill? Or were they really obeying the spirit of the Commandment? In that incident, I believe, you have the answer to the whole question. do not believe that either in its government or its people the USA wants war or killing. We are not a perfect people, but the whole purpose of this nation is to prevent war and By William E. Gilroy, D.

D. The Commandment, Thoti shalt not kill, the sixth in the Hebrew Decalogue (Exodus 20), stands as an admonition to mankind against age long killings upon a vast scale. Unfortunately, there is a discrepancy between the Commandment and the grin! and terrible facts of the destruction of human life becomes all the more emphasized, when one considers the teaching of Jesus, not only concerning life and love, but enjoining even love for enemies. In relation to this 1 tragic and perplexing situation a correspondent in Wisconsin has sent me the following letter: May I have the truth concerning the teachings of the Bible in regard to our governments orders. In the armed services you are ordered to kill the enemy.

The Bible tells us in Exodus 20, Thou shalt not kill. Which is to be feared and respected, God in heaven, or the bayonets and rifles at your back? With both sides praying to God for counsel and guidance, how sad and confused warefare is. I believe our men in government situations have no fear of God. Otherwise they would be honest in dealings and speak the truth. They are leading our nation to its downfall morally and economically.

Then, at its downfall, the good must suffer with the evil ones. Why must this be? Why must the good suffer with the bkd. May I have your God-guided reply? This was my reply: I would call your attention to JACK PRADERS HEY MODEL HOME III MISSION PARK Kjj Othman Looks Over Washington Washington Again Being Swamped in Alphabetical Soup By FREDERICK C. Not enough. Not near. So weve got the deep thinkers yammering about the DPA and where that fits into the NPA, and if so, what about the ODM and the RDB, when you consider them in connection with the NSRB, the GTA, the GSA, the FSS, the IDA, the SFAD and in particular the DFA? I bet you 510 you cant guess, unless you happen to be a pickerel, what that last set of initials means. It is and I swear it the defense fisheries administration, in charge of fish for defense purposes. Running this (I almost said, fishy) enterprise is Albert M.

Day, who favors portraits of catfish on his neckties and who when hes not fighting cold with finny weapons is director of the fish and wild life service. Nice fellow and an able operator, too. Painters Busy The other alphabetical groupings now confusing the conversations in these parts arent so easy to pin down, because a fellow never knows when a new one i3 going to come and take over some of the work of an old one. This keeps the federal sign painters busy dissolving the names on doors with paint remover and lettering in new ones. IDA, for instance, is no sister of Fannie May or FNMA, the federal national mortgage association.

IDA means the interior defense agencies. These include the PAD, the petroleum administration for defense; the DPA, which is the defense power administration; the DMA, or defense minerals administration; the SFAD, the solid fuels administration for defense, and, of coarse, those defending fish. The ODM is the office of defense mobilization, the NPA' is the national production administration, the DPA is the defense production administration, the ESA is the economic stabilization agency, and the NSRB is the national security resources board. There is some question as to who bosses what among some of these agencies. There is even doubt about some of their room numbers.

That brings us to the RDB, or research and development board, which gives advice to the MB, or munitions board, which is in charge of stockpiling. The actual purchaser of the materials is the EPS, or emergency procurement service, which is a subsidiary of the FSS, or federal supply service. The FSS in turn is part of the GSA, or general services administration, which is operated by Jess Larson, my old friend from Oklahoma and the man who brought order out of the shambles that used to be the surplus property department.
