BOSTON (UP) Manager Lou Boudreau led hi Cleveland Indians to the American league pennant today with a rousing 8 to 3 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Raymond Bobo, 23, Killed When Plane Stalls on Takeoff Crash of a light, two-seater Cessna plane claimed the life of Pilot Raymond Bobo, 23, of 384 San Juan road at 6:30 oclock this morning, according to Coroner Elmer Machado.

The small plane crashed into a stubble field a quarter of a mile from the take-off strip near the family home. He stated that visibility was less than one-sixteenth of a mile at the time of take-off. Fog was heavy throughout the Area, with less than a 100-foot ceiling. Inspector Bucklin stated. Preliminary Investigation re- vealed that the plane was owned by the Prop-Twisters club in Soledad. Young Bobo and four companions purchased the plane a few weeks ago, according to deputies.

Sheriffs deputies were notified of the crash by the victims mother, Mrs. Charles Bobo. She told deputies that her husband helped ready the plane for the easly morning flight. He watched the take-off, witnessing the crash. Mr.

Bobo was unable to answer questions because of shock, deputies stated. CAA technicians from Palo Alto were reported en route to Salinas to complete the investigation of the crash. Funeral Wednesday The crash victim was bom in Grimes, Sept. 23, 1925. He served in the U.

S. Navy during the late war, coming to Salinas to reside with his parents after being discharged. He la survived by his father and mother, brother, Lyle L. Bobo, of San Diego, and a sister, Nancy Ann Bobo of Salinas. He was a member, of Cecil M.

Anderson post 581 of the American Legion. Funeral seryices will be held from the Muller mortuary at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories cemetery. S. highway 101, according to highway patrolmen. He was taken to the Monterey county hospital for emergency treatment and transferred to the Fort Ord hospital.

The nature of his injuries was not disclosed. 1 i He was riding in a sedan driven by Randall Phelps, 28, another Fort Ord soldier, at the time of the crash. According to patrolmen, Phelps attempted a U-tum in the pathway of the oncoming truck and was cited for making an unsafe turn. Neither Phelps nor Domingo D. Chambra, 26, of Sunnyvale, driver of the truck, were injured in the collision, according to 8 Care Collide A three-car crash on the Cas-troville highway, one mile north of Salinas, at 11 :30 oclock last night resulted in no injuries, according to the patrol report.

Artie R. Polston, 23, of Pinedale, was cited for driving on the wrong side of the highway following the collision. According to Investigating officers, Polston sideswlped a car driven by Jessie G. Robles, 27, of Castroville. A third car, operated by Donald E.

Fairfield, 16, of. Moss Landing, which was following the Polston car, crashed into Its rear, patrolmen stated. All three cars were badly damaged.
