Shelare of 279 Highland Blvd. and Northport, to Ensign Thomas Joseph Walker, son of Postmaster General and Mrs. C. Walker of Manhattan and Washington, took place at a nuptial mass yesterday in the Lady Chapel of St. Patrick's Cathedral, Manhattan.

The Most Rev. John F. O'Hara, C. S. performed the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin Victorian gown with fitted basque waist, heart shaped neckline, lonsf musketeer sleeves and a divided skirt, forming a train over a bouffant underskirt of white tulle. Her veil was caught to her head by a shirred tulle Juliet cap, edged with a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white orchids, gardenias and stephanosis. Miss Joy Mari Shelare was her sister's maid of honor, and she wore a gown of coral marquisette with basque waist, bouffant skirt and pleated effect apron front. Her headdress consisted of a garland of fresh flowers and matching bouquet.

The bridesmaids were Misj Laura Hallie Walker, the bridegroom's sister, and the Misses Nancy and Mary Tiernan of Essex Falls, N. J. Their gowns were of turquoise blue and similar to that of the maid of honor. They, too, wore garlands of fresh flowers and carried matching bouquets. The bridegroom had his father for best man, and ushers were Robert F.

Shelare, the bride's brother, James Jenkins, John T. Gilbride and Ensign Jules Ameno, U.S. NR. A wedding breakfast for the immediate families followed at Sherry's, Manhattan. The bride is a graduate of Marycount School, Tarrytown, N.

Y. and of the Finch Junior College. The bride graduated from Loyola School of New York and of Notre Dame College, Class of 1942. Red Cross To Benefit By Recital Program Today in Church of Neighbor The American Red Cross War Fund will benefit by a candlelight organ recital by Winslow Cheney this afternoon at the Church of the Neighbor, Clark St. and Monroe Place.

The program, besides the organ music, will include an itner-lude when the Rev. William F. Wunsch will give Poems of War and Peace. Mr. Cheney Is the organist at the Church of the Neighbor and in 1941 succeeded Dr.

R. Huntington Woodman as organist at the Packer Collegiate Institute. His program this afternoon will include: Piece He-roique, Cesar Franck; A Bleaks Into Bloom, Johannes Brahms; Dreams, R. S. Stoughton; Concerto No.

1, Major, J. S. Bach; Carillon, Louis Vierne; Will The Wisp, Gordon Balch Nevin; Old Damascus Chant, R. Deane Shure; Chlnoiserie, Firmin Swin-nen; Yucca Blossoms, Homer Near-ing and Thou Art the Rock, Henry Mulet. Sponsoring the recital are the following: Mr.

and Mrs. Clarence Glass of 25 Irvington Place, has selected May 29 as the date for her marriage to Richard Fiske Shaffer of Ilion, N. son of Mrs. Hazel Shaffer of Manhattan. The ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m.
