John Turner is very ill at his home threatened with an attack of the Typhoid fever. He has been feeling badly for several days but up until day before yesterday was up and aroimd the house. J. C. Hart and lilHe daughter were hurt the other evening by being thrown off a horse.

They were out riding and Mr. Hurt had the little girl on the horse with him. The horse became frightened at a passing bicycle and the two were thrown olf. lloth were biidly bruised but notlilng scr ions from the accident. Harry Swisher was over yesterday from Moran visiting friends.

The trial of C. A. Snyder vs Perry Diest was held Saturday but finally terminated in a hung jury, three vol Ing -for acquittal and three for conviction. The trial will come up at a later date. The Register in mentioning the trial last week men- ftoned Will Howlers name in connection with the case.

Mr. Dowler says he had no connection whatever with the case, and never was cruel to animals. IJU Stewart and family leave for a visit with relatives in another state. In the past It has been the cus- tome to. make the high school pupils go the same hours at the grade rooms. This new plan will allow them much more time to study at home. Prof.

Balror says there will be a course music taught this yehr In the schools but that no special music professor will be employed. Besides the teachers already one more regular teacher will be employed at a later date. The list of teachers and the grade which they teach are as follows: lanyonvilie Dayton, principal, and sixth and seventh grades; Grace Wilson, second and third grades; Elnora Ellis, first grade. Northeast Flemming principal and sixth and seventh grades Ella Trasi, of Humboldt, tinurth and fifth gradt-s; Cora Roberts, second and third grade and Miss Miller of lola, first grade. High School Dorothy Doyle, principal; Miss Charlotte Louis of Emporia, second and third grades: Miss Ella'Smith of lola, second and third grades, and Mrs.

Conner, eighth grade. Prof. Baker will have charge of all the buildings and will lake a part of the work in the high school. He has not yet decided as to how the different studies wni be divided in the high school. Mr.

Bakor says that the present course does not come up to the standard of the schools of the state and it is his intention to change the cojtrso somewhat so that it will como up to tho standard.
