The Starlight Roof, with Its large outdoor dining terraces, 260 feet in length, offering views of the city from three sides of the building, features Hal Kemp and his orchestra for dinner and supper dancing, alternating with Mischa Borr and his rumba waltz orchestra during the supper hour, dances by Georges and Jalna, and songs by George Shelley. Tony and Louie, co-managers of the Queens Terrace, have inaugurated Sunday night dinner shows, at which time the complete revue is presented. In the cocktail lounge Snub Mosley and his 6 Hot Licks are the musical attraction, AT HI HO Jlmmie Lunceford and his orchestra will be the opening attraction when the Hi Ho Casino, Ocean Parkway and the Coney Island boardwalk, makes its debut on Saturday, May 27. Many of the best known bands of the country will be heard during the season.

Lunceford will be followed by Charlie Barnet's swingsters. The entire interior of the well-known building, which is adjacent to the Brighton Theater, has been redecorated. A feature of the Hi Ho is the Marine Terrace, which gives a sweeping view of the coast. Fireworks each Tuesday evening. A milk bar with refreshments at popular prices is another attraction at the Hi Ho.

On the site where the Shore Road Bam formerly stood a new building has risen, the home of the new SHORE ROAD CASINO, at 4th Ave. and 101st St. Wednesday night was the opening. An elaborate floor show was presented and the dance music was played by Mel Craig and his orchestra. A new floor show will be presented each week.

Screen News Robert Preston, now playing one of the leads ln "Union Pacific" at the New York Paramount Theater, will appear as one of the brothers in Paramount's forthcoming "Beau Geste." Preston is a graduate of the Pasadena Playhouse, which sent Randolph Scott, Robert Young, Gloria Stewart and Douglass Montgomery to the Hollywood studios. He made his first stage appearance under the direction of Mrs. Tyrone Power, wife of the stage player and mother of the movie star. Edna Best, whom David O. Selz-nick has engaged for the leading feminine role opposite Leslie Howard in his production of "Intermezzo," arrives in New York from England today aboard the Nleuw Amsterdam.

She leaves almost immediately for Hollywood, where camera work on "Intermezzo" ls awaiting her arrival. "Rose of Washington Square," Darryl F. Murray Silverstone, chief of world-wide operations for United Artists, and Mary Pickford, one of the founders of the company and one of its present owners, have left Hollywood for New York. Continuing his precedent of bringing outstanding authors of mystery novels to the screen, Walter Wanger has announced the purchase of the first novel by F. G.
