Bookplate Exhibit For Library Friends Private Showing Wednesday Will Be Followed by Public Display Benefit A private exhibition of American and foreign bookplates from the collection of the Brooklyn Public Library will be held for the Friends of the Library in Ingersoll Memorial at a tea on day afternoon. On the following day the exhibit will be transferred to the showcases in the foyer and will be displayed there for the benefit of the public for two weeks.

it was announced by Dr. Milton James Ferguson, chief librarian. The Friends' own bookplate, recently drawn by Ernest D. Roth, New York artist, will have a featured place in the exhibit. Several members of the organization, which is directed by Miss Harriet T.

Righter, will also display their bookplates. The Library's collection consists of more than 800 plates, most of which were the gift of the late Wilbur Macey Stone, distinguished author and collector, and by his colleague, Jay Chambers. American artists represented in the bookplate collection include Haydon Jones. William Jordan, Thomas Tryon, Sheldon Cheney, W. E.

Fisher and Elizabeth H. Saunders. Eleven foreign countries are included, and there are bookplates of many colleagues and universities. The selection and arrangement of the exhibition are in charge of Miss Harriet L. Burgess, formerly assistant reference librarian of the library.

Miss Sandhop is a senior at Upsala, from which college Lieutenant Peterson was graduated before being commissioned in the Army Air Corps. Miss Dillmann was graduated from the Packer Collegiate Institute, and the Ann-Reno Institute for Kindergarten and Primary Teachers and is at present a teacher in the Suffern Central School System, New York.

She is a member of Tau Gamma Eta. Mr. Qualey is a graduate of Hamilton College, class of 1933, and of the Law School of New York University. He is an attorney with the United States Customs Service, New York City. His fraternities are Tau Kappa Epsilon and Phi, Alpha Eta.
