The committee for the Defense of Public Education, a joint committee of the Teachers Union and the College Teachers Union, urged today "that in the interests of fair play we strongly urge the committee to give these people the opportunity to testify at this session of the public hearings." Senator Coudert promised that ell those cited as being Communists or whose names were mentioned in any other connection, would have an opportunity to testify, He requested that those who wish to be heard make a written request and "they will be given an opportunity to be heard in the orderly course of the committee's op- A repetition of mass picketing of the committee's office building at 165 Broadway, Manhattan, was promised by Claire Neikind, a graduate of Brooklyn College last June, who now is chairman of the committee to defend student rights of the allegedly Communist-domi nated American Student Union.

When the investigation of subversive activities at City College Is completed, the investigators once more will turn their attention to Brooklyn College, Paul Windels, committee counsel, stated. To Complete Inquiry "We have not completed our Investigation In Brooklyn College since we have taken the testimony of only a few of the witnesses we wish to examine," Windels said. "This work will be completed and its results reported to the committee."
