WAYLAID. Probable Murder of Professor Porter, ex-County Superintendent or Payette Count jr. At an early hour this morning the beaten body of Professer E. F. Porter, former county superintecdent was found in a mud hole on the road between Bellevernon and Monessen.

Prof. Porter since servinjf his two terms as County superintendent has been a real estate agent. He left yesterday for Monessen to close up a realestate deal having probably, taken the deed with him and was returning with the money when set upon. He was taken to the office of the Henderson Coal road where he still lies in a precarious condition. At nooa he was removed to Brownsville by boat but was still unconscious.

His wife accomy anied him. Died at Rentleysvllle. April 4th, Mrs. Julia Jennings, of Bentlevsville, aged 70 years, from general debility. Funeral Saturday at 2 o'clock from the Bentleysyille, Methodist church, interment Newkirks cemetery.

Deceased was the wife of the late Robert Jennings and is survived by her daughters. Mrs. Benjamin For-sythe of Monongahela. Mrs. Julia Don-nley of Helena, Mrs.

Melissa Leaver of Bentlevsvill3, Mrs. Lena Whitfield nf Scenery Hill, Prof. R. A. Jennings of Indiana.

Deceased was well and favorably known in Bentleysville and was an earnest member of the Methodist church Traffic Stopped. The sand digger, Pittsburg, it is supposed, btruck the river bridge this morning loosening the joice of one section. Travel was suspended during the morning but it has been repaired since and can now be safelv travelled. Bellinpham wnt to the place on Tuesday afternoon to hold a meeting and form a locil union. In speaking of the result to a reporter he said: I had just got off the train and was standing on the station platform when a man who showed a badge indicating that he was a coal and iron policeman ordered me to return to the train. He gave me three minutes to obey, and wbenJI refused he put handcuffs on my wrists and informed me that I was under arrest. He took me to the company's office, where I was charged with trespass. The superintendent, who, I understand, is burgess of the brough, ordered me to leave the place.

I insisted on a trial if I had been guilty of an offense and agreed to accompany the officer who preferred the charge to jail. Instead I was taken to the borough limits and released. About 11 English speaking miners at that place have been discharged, but we have found places -for them elswhere. Body of Another Victim Found. The body of the unknown man taken from the Monongahela river at the foot of Renova street, Glenwood, Sunday, was identfied at the Pittsburg morgue as that of William 8.

Bold Burglars. The robbery was one of the most daring1 in the history of the Monongahela valley. It occurred at 9:45 o'clock at night when a large portion of the population was astir, but the robbers had selected their time well and the station was deserted, while they worked, save for themselves and the helpless clerk. Harry A. Blackburn of Clairton, sou of B. Blackburn, Supt. of Mines for the Monongahela River Consolidated Coal and Coke Co. and Verna Dick of Blair eloped to Youngstown, Ohio, on Saturday, and were married.

The groom is SO years old and the bride is 21 years. Miss Dick formerly lived in Monongahela. The funeral of Mrs. Mary E. Wilson, wife of William Wilson, of Sunny Side, who died in the McKeesport hospital from apoplexy, will take place tomorrow afternoon.
