This association is composed of boys who have voluntarily undertaken to give up cigarette smoking. Each member wears a banker, who is charged with embezzlement, was resumed this morning. Easton, January 24. When a large double runner sled started down Ferry street, from Fifteenth street, last night, several boys jumped on it despite the protests of the coasters. There is not tho slightest doubt in the minds of those who have the Philadelphia movement in charge but that a boy can be taught to as fiercely despise the cigarette as he has hitherto longed for it if he is only judiciously handled and properly coached. The success of the New York League is proof of this. Membership in the League is considered a great honor. It is entirely officered by tbe boys and its meetings are characterized by vigorous debates and Interesting personal experiences from the brave young cigarette fighters. With such an organization in the Philadelphia schools it is believed that the evil will be greatly diminished if not entirely eradicated.
