BERK0WITZ BACK IN JAIL Must Serve Out Ills Term for Big Naturalization Frauds. Isldor Berkowltz, who was convicted (sometime ago of uttering false certificates of nat. urallatation, was yesterday recommitted by Judge MePherson in the United States District Court. Berkowltz wns convicted and sentenced to eighteen months in the Eastern Penitentiary. His counsel appealed the case to the Circuit Court of Appeals, when? the conviction and sentence were affirmed by the majority of the court, but a dissenting opinion was filed by Judge Acheson.

The grounds on which the appeal was taken were legal technicalities regarding the suiticlency of the indictment. Berkowltz bad served one month and sixteen days of his term and now he is to serve the remainder of one year, four months and fourteen days. Jn Memory of John A.
