Burnett, Chita Rivera, Nancy Two N.Y. Companies NEW YORK (AP) An agen da of eight productions has been prepared for the 11th season next summer of New York's free Shakespeare Festival. Three of the bardjs dramas are to be performed in the com pany's home theater in Central Park. The Minnesota-born and Texas-reared Miss Karr has ap peared in many summer stock productions and has been seen on television in "The Best of Broadway," "Mardi Gras" and the "Polly Bergen Show." The enterprise, currently rais ing $400,000, is to function on a year-round basis, dividing ac- tivities between a home theater in Oslo and on tour of other cities.

San Bernardino Civ ic Light Opera audiences will remember her as Gladys, the secretary with the "mostest," in last season "The iaiama Game." As Ella in "Bells Are Ring ing Miss Karr portrays an op erator for a telephone answer ing service who can't resist being a benevolent little Miss Fix- it as she juggles messages for her various customers. She in sists that if she'd been hand ling an answering service for Romeo and Juliet, and had got Juliet's message through to Romeo about her sleeping potion, "Those two kids would be alive today!" Among her many assignments in the show she sings Party's Over" and dances the exciting "Mu Cha Cha." The hilarious "Bells Are Ringing" opens Feb. 4 for a nine-day run in San Bernar dino High' School Auditorium, 18th and Streets.

Curtain is at 8:15 p.m. Miss Karr has just returned from Tokyo, where she per formed the role of Anita in the Jerome Robbins production of "West Side Story." An extreme' ly popular performer with the Japanese, she appeared regul arly on Japanese television and also did a number of variety shows during her nine-w stay in that country. Among her theater credits are 12 Broadway musicals, in cluding "Bells Are Ringing." She has been standby for Carol Santa Fe Federal Savings of his acquired broad Cock- Hal Wallh Is Winner Again Hal Wallis' "Becket" is selected as the best English language film of 1964 in the current issue of America Magazine. Cockney Loss Takes Three Months Unlike Julie Andrews in the Broadway musical production of 'My Fair Lady," it took Fergus McClelland three months to lose his Cockney accent. Fergus, ap pearing with G. Kob-inson in "A Boy Ten Feet Tall," plays the adventuresome lad who makes an exciting journey all the way from Port Said to Durban. Living in Paddington, Eng land, the 10-year-old fair-headed tyke attends Holland Park School "I didn't tell them about be ing in the film because I don't want my classmates to get the wrong impression," Fergus said with an impish grin. Dennis Hopper Gets Film Role On First Day Back On his first day back from a television assignment in Eng land, Dennis Hopper was handed a co-starring role in Hal Wal-lis' "The Sons of Katie Elder," teaming John Wayne and Dean Martin. He is cast as the weak son of a Texas empire-carver in the screenplay by William Wright, Allan Weiss and Harry Essex.
