While only twenty-eight outsiders qualified to enter the finals, there were not less than two hundred visiting motorcyclists here to witness the meet, which provided a series of thrills from start to finish, as the daring riders took reckless chances in trying to reach the top of the incline three hundred and sixty feet in length and estimated to have a balanced grade of 40 per cent. Several thousand people attended the meet and a sound of motor traffic officers were kept busy all the afternoon keeping the road open for traffic. Among tho notables taking part in the meet was "Sprouts" Elder of Fresno nnd Dudley Perkins of San Francisco, both of whom brought along the full strength of their respective motorcycle clubs.

Perkins, one of the largest Harley-Davidson agents on the const, did his full share in making the meet a success and cities like Oakland, Alameda, Richmond, Nupa, Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco were all rep resented.
