James McHale, a highly respected resident of Carbondale who was a resident of Market street, this city, until 17 years ago, died last night at 10 o'clock at his home in the pioneer city, after having suffered for some time from miners', asthma.

Mr. McHale was widely known here and visited here frequently after he moved away. He was the father of the late Henry McHale, who died here a few years ago. Mr. McHale's survivors are his widow, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs.

William Weir, of New York; M. J. McHale, of Parsons: Thomas, Edward and James, of Carbondale; Joseph, pf, Philadelphia; Alice, of Carbondale; Sadie, of Scran ton; Nellie, of Wllkesbarre, and Teresa, of StrcudsBurg. One sister. Mrs.
