Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Ind. He was born on June 20, 1932, in Adams, to Victor and Wilma (Carr) Ewald. He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Charles City, Iowa, in June 1950. Br. Ewald was received into the Congregation of Holy Cross on Aug.

15, 1951, and made his First Profession of Vows on Aug. 16, 1952. He professed his Final Vows on Aug. 16, 1956. Br.

Ewald celebrated his 60th anniversary of religious profession in 2012. Br. Ewald's first assignment was to Holy Cross College in Washington, D.C. From 1959-1962, Br. Ewald assisted with maintenance projects at Moreau Seminary and St.

Joseph Hall, both on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, before returning to Washington in the summer of 1962. When Holy Cross College closed in 1968, Br. Ewald moved to the Foreign Mission House, also in Washington. He served there until 1975, when he began assisting at Notre Dame High School for Boys in Niles, Ill. After studying at Oakton Community College, Des Plaines, from 1981-83, Br.

Ewald spent a year working in patient care at Holy Cross Orval Lee Henderson Orval Lee Henderson, 78, passed from this life on January 19, 2013. Orval was born on September 9, 1934, to Duncan and Edith (Smith). He was the sixth of nine children. Their home was in Winterset, Iowa, where they farmed until relocating to their farm near Dumont, Iowa. Orval had many fond memories of his childhood home, in Winterset, particularly, sliding down the long sloping hills in the winter on make shift sleds.

Orval graduated from Dumont high school. He met his future wife when she rode to the farm on horseback, delivering dinner to her family members. As was common then, neighbors assisted each other during the harvest ing season. Upon seeing Beverly Hudson, he said to himself, "I am going to marry her someday." Less than two years passed when they married. He spent their marriage as in love with his bride as he was that first moment.

The couple farmed in Dougherty, then Nora Springs, settling in Rudd, where they purchased a small farm. Orval also worked at Armour, until retirement in 1996. Beverly was a baptized Jehovah's Witness, as was Arlet Nelson Rokke BELMOND Arlet Nelson Rokke, 94, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Funeral services for Arlet will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug.

2, at Andrews Funeral Homes 516 First St. S.E., Belmond. The Rev. James Harbaugh will officiate. Immediately after the service, a funeral procession will depart to the Round Prairie Church in Albert Lea, for a House, Notre Dame, before returning to Notre Dame High School in Illinois 1984 for three years.

In 1987, Br. Ewald moved back to Moreau Seminary but also worked on projects at the Congregation's retreat house in Deep Creek Lake, Md. Br. Ewald's Wake will be 7:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 30, at Moreau Seminary, Notre Dame, Ind.

The Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, on Notre Dame's campus. Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, is handling the arrangements. Br. Ewald's parents, a brother, George, and a nephew, Andrew, are deceased.

Surviving are a brother, Paul, Charles City, Iowa; two sisters, Mary Lang, Mason City, Iowa, and Cheryl Young, Des Moines, Iowa; and seven nieces and nephews, Susanne Young of Des Moines, Victor Young of Ankeny, Iowa, Melissa King of Ankeny, Stephanie Helston of New Jersey; John Lang of Altoona, Iowa, Stephen Lang of Colorado, and Debra Kranz of Mason City. He looked forward to the visits from the faithful servants after Beverly's death in May of 1996, until his own. Orval and Beverly were blessed with five children. The eldest, Diana, died as a toddler from an accidental injury. Surviving children and their spouses are: Kenneth and Jane (Bielefeld) of Floyd, Michael and Marilyn (Chrencik) of Orchard, James and Melinda (Miller) of Little Cedar, Sandra and Rich Onken of Orchard. Orval is survived by nine grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.

Orval was preceded in death by his parents: Duncan and Edith; his wife, Beverly; their daughter, Diana; his eight siblings: Russell, Emmett, Carl, Harold, Glenn, Hazel, Loran and Lucinda. Our family would like to thank the staff of the IOOF home in Mason City, for the personal attention and loving care they gave to Orval in his last weeks. Orval's ashes will be buried Sunday, August 4th, at 2 p.m. at the West Fork Cemetery, south of Dougherty. The cemetery is located on Vine, one half mile south of 255th Street, west of Greene.

Prayer will be offered by a member of the Kingdom Hall. public graveside service at North Round Prairie Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the church for the procession that will leave at 12:30 p.m. to go to the North Round Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday from 5:30 until 7 p.m.
