NEW CASTLE, NEWS, TUESDAY, MAY 23, i9So ELEANOR RODGERS LISTS BRIDAL PARTY Miss Eleanor Rodgers, daughter of Mrs. E. Rodgers, 840 Franklin avenue has announced the bridal attendants who will serve at her wedding to Robert Williams, son of Mrs. O. N.

Williams of Greenville on June 3, at an open church ceremony in the Epworth Methodist church, at 4:30 p. m. The bride-elect has asked Miss Mildred Muir of Blairsville, an intimate friend, to be maid of honor. Flower girls will be Miss Sharon Spiers and Miss Karen Kerr. As his best man the prospective groom will have James Dugan, a cousin and ushers will be John B.

Roders, a cousin of the bride; Casper Sherman, Butler, and George Hamil, Brockport, N. cousins and Harold E. Reichard of Greenville, a close friend. Immediately following the ceremony an open reception will be held in the community room of the ehurck. CLASS HONORS BRIDES-ELECT Miss Vivian Johnson McGILL SOCIETY HONORS MOTHERS Mothers and daughters were honored at a tea Monday evening, when the McGill Missionary society entertained in Highland United Presbyterian church.

Mrs Arthur Canning welcomed the guests. Using The Un seen as her theme, Mrs R. H. Johnston led devotions. Jean Boalick offered as a piano solo.

A picnic at Cascade park Monday evening, June 26, will feature the next assembly. and Nancy Watson, June brides-elect, Do; and Donald Pitzer, Miss fiance, were honored at a miscellaneous shower held by the Baraca Bible class of the Grace Bible Community church in East New Castle. The scene of the enjoyable fete the home of Mr, and Mrs. was Henry Karki, Alborn avenue. Twenty and other games provided entertainment.

Lunch was served buffet style. Gifts were brought in by Ike Bunney, Teddy Watson and Henry Karki, all nephews of Miss Watson. MISS NANCY WATSON GUEST AT SHOWER Mrs. Edward McBride of Franklin, entertained Friday evening in honor of Miss Nancy Watson bride-elect of June 1. Several former student nurse friends of the honoree were present for the shower.

Special guests of the occasion were Mrs. A1 McBride, mother-in- law of the hostess, and Mrs. T. C. Watson, mother of the honored $uest- Decorations in green and white added to the festivities.

Delicious refreshments were later served, with dainty green and white parasols marking each place-setting. An array of lovely and useful miscellaneous gifts were later showered upon Miss Watson. Games were an added diversion, with prizes captured by Joan and Jean Smith. B. D.

W. Club Party Five hundred highlighted the evening when members of the B. D. W. club gathered at the home of Mrs.

Gene Shaffer, Fairfield avenue, on a recent evening. Successful in winning prizes were Mrs. Ginny Matthews and Mrs. Peg Fisher. A tempting lunch was later served, with Mrs.

May Dewberry assisting the hostess. The club will meet June 1 at a local tea room with Mrs. Madonna Conner as hostess. MT. JACKSON CLUB PLANS FOR PROGRAM Members of the Mt.

Jackson club will meet in the Mt. Jackson United Presbyterian church at eight p. m. Wednesday May 31, instead of May 30, the regular meeting date. This change has been made due to the holiday observance.

Mrs. C. B. McKissick will be in charge of the program, with Mrs. Mac Tindall, Mrs.

Norman Duff and Mrs. Floyd Douglas to conduct devotionals and the club creed. Guest speaker for the occasion yrill be Rev. Willard K. George.

The high school trio, recently participating in the forensic music contest, will sing several selections. Shirley Hayes, Joan Paden and Mary Ann McKee compose this group. Richard Gwin, also a contestant in the contest, will play numbers on his saxophone for the entertainment of the club. MYERS-JONES HOME WEDDING Miss Mary Margaret Myers, daughter of Mr and Mrs. G.

W. Myers, New Castle R. D. 6, was united in marriage to Robert Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Jones, New Castle R. D. 6, at an impressive ceremony in the home. The exchange of vows took place Saturday afternoon, May 20, at 2 with Dr. Clyde L.

Myers, the brother and pastor of First U. P. church, Pittsburgh, officiating. The bride was attired in a light blue taffeta, street-length dress trimmed in white lace, with white accessories. Her corsage was of white roses.

She wore a single strand of pearls, the gift, which he brought from Korea, having been stationed there while serving in the U. S. army. Mrs. John Young, as matron of honor, wore a pale blue crepe dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses.

John Young served the groom as best man. Robert A. Myers, the brother, sang Love Ybu and with Mrs. Richard Harrison, his sister, as accompanist. Early spring flowers decorated the living room.

A reception for 30 guests followed at the home. Mrs. Clyde L. Myers, Mrs. Charles R.

Myers, Mrs. Dale Myers and Mrs. Harri son served as aides. A three-tiered wedding cake centered the table. Upon returning from a trip to Niagara Falls, Mr.

and Mrs. Jones will be at home to friends in their apartment on Scott street, New Castle. Mrs. Jones, a graduate of Princeton high school, attended New Castle Business college, and is employed in the office of the Agricul tural Conservation association of Lawrence county. Mr.

Jones, an alumnus of Prince ton high school, is employed at the Youngstown Sheet Tube com pany. The young couple, who were honored at a number of showers prior to their marriage, received many lovely wedding gifts for their new home. BRIDAL PAIR-ELECT FETED AT PARTY Miss Marjory Maxwell, bride- elect of June '9 and her fiance, Gordon McKnight were entertained at a dinner held by the aunt Mrs. Florence Cartwright at her home, 454 Croton avenue. LOUISE FEIL IS FETED AT SHOWER Miss Louise Fell, bride-elect of June 2, was honored at a shower in the home of Mrs. Fred Feil, Schenley avenue, with Mrs. Warren Van Horn co-hostess. Miss Feil was recipient of a number of lovely personal gifts. Various games were enjoyed with token going to Mrs.

John Cain, Mrs. Edward Feil, Mrs. Charles Duncan. Mrs. VanHorn, Mrs.

E. R. Critchlow and Mrs. William Critchlow. Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess and co-hostess.

Miniature umbrellas with red hearts, bearing the message, and Bob. June 2, 1950 were used as favors. Miss Feil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Joseph Feil, Old Pittsburgh road, will be united in marriage to Robert L. Critchlow, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Edward R. Critch low, Atkinson street. SISTERHOOD PLANS SPECIAL MEETING Mrs. Edward Buntman, chairman of the special fund raising event to be held at Tifereth Israel synagogue on June 4, announces a special meeting at the synagogue on Wednesday at 1:30 p.

Michael Flyak of 1011 Cunningham avenue, and Mr. Hare is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Booher of 657 East Washington street. The bride-elect has selected Dorothy Rhodes as her maid of honor and Miss Irene Pavlov as bridesmaid Joe Locke will serve the groom as best man, with Mike Hnatt, cousin of the bride, as usher.

The club token was won by Mrs. Colella. Dainty refreshments were later served by the hostess. The next meeting of the group will be held at the home of Mrs. Michael Pagley, Harrison street, on June 15.
