The full obituary will appear in Fridays edition of The Evening Sun. Herbert E. Smith McSherrystown Herbert E. Smith, 96, 429 Main McSherrystown, died Tuesday evening, March 5, 1992, at his home.

Born in McSherrystown, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Annie L. McKinney Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Annunciation Church, McSherrystown.

He was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where he was employed as an interviewer. He was a life member of A. Thomas. He was the husband of Arlene E. Stough Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was a gospel singer. He also had a window display business, was a window designer for Griffith-Smith Mens Clothing of York, and had been associated with Weimbrom Jewelers for 35 years. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Congregational Church and a graduate of East Berlin High School.

He had studied voice under the direction of Charlotte Worley, Mary Seiker, Adam Hamme and Church, and U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany between 1962-1964, he was employed by Seal Air Corp. in Hanover for 28 years. He was a member and past officer of Biglerville Fire Co. and originator and show manager for the Biglerville Fire Co.

Antique Flea Market for the past 19 years, as well as a member of the American Legion Post 262, a player and manager of the Upper Adams Soft-ball League and Upper Adams Winter Bowling League. Surviving also are two sisters, Patsy Carey and Nancy Richardson, both of Gettysburg and one brother, Rick Cullison of Gettysburg. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Biglerville, with his pastor, the Rev.

Bryan A. Leone McSherrystown Home Association and the Rev. Joel Nogle officiating, Pennsylvania Wayne D. Thomas THOMASVILLE Wayne D. Thomas, 62, of Thomasville, died at 5:25 a.m.

Tuesday, May 5, 1992, at Hanover General Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in York, he was the son of Fannie C. Wildasin Thomas of Thomasville, and the late George iQflQY oujlin. He was the husband of Helen I. Musselman Harget. They were married 69 years as of Dec. 27, 1991. Mr.

Harget was a member of St. Davids United Church of Christ in Hanover. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Club of Hanover Wire Cloth and a former member and truck driver for the Hanover Fire Dept. He retired from Hanover Wire Cloth after 27 years of service where he was a loom operator. Surviving also are five sons, Bruce W.

Harget of Jacksonville, Robert Harget of Thomasville, Kenneth L. Harget and James F. Harget, both of Hanover, and Phares H. Harget of Biglerville; four daughters, Bernice Cool of Littlestown, Jean Tharp of Hanover, Mary Doyle of Thomasville, and Patricia Muth of Manchester, 39 grandchildren; 47 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Harget who died July 30, 1989.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Wetzel Funeral Home 549 Carlisle Hanover. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday evening at the funeral home. His pastor, the Rev.

Robert M. Myers, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to The Brethren Home, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, or St. Davids United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover. Delbert M.

Smith HANOVER Delbert M. Smith, 89, 213 Broadway, Hanover, died this morning, May 7, 1992, at Hanover General Hospital. He was the husband of Bessie Peters Smith. Joseph W. Kegel McSHERRYSTOWN Joseph Kegel, of 543 'A Main McSherrystown, died 10:30 Wednesday evening, May 6, 1992, at Hanover General Hospital where he was a patient. He was a member of the Annunciation Church, McSherrystown. Hicks Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Mrs. Duntsan, who had been an opera coach in New York City and New Oxford.

He was heard over the York radio stations WSBA and WORK for many years. Mr. Thomas had toured the Holy Land in 1966 as a soloist for Dr. Torrey Johnson. He and his wife also had toured the Holy Land in 1969, 1974 and 1978 doing concerts as the group, The International Gospel Team.

They had toured extensively with gospel tours in Europe, Africa, the Orient, Central America, the Carribean, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States. For 18 years, Wayne and Arlene were sponsored by Jays Market over WSBA-TV York and WGCB-TV of Red Lion. They had been recording artists for Even Tide Recording Co. He was a former baritone soloist at the Zion Lutheran Church of York. He had also been soloist with the Spring Garden Band for several years for the broadway shows.

During his tremendous ministries and crusades, he had ministered to prisons and rescue missions, wherever his sacred concerts had taken him throughout the tours. Surviving also are one brother, George F. Thomas of Thomasville and nieces and nephews. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St.

Paul Evangelical Congregational Church, 450 W. King York. His pastor, the Rev. Alfred W. Miller of St.

Paul Evangelical Congregational Church, and the Rev. Kenneth M. Weaver, pastor of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church of Lancaster, will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity (Roths) United Church of Christ Cemetery, near Spring Grove. Viewings will be 5 to 9 p.m.

Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home 2290 School Shiloh, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sing Out Evangelism, in care of Arlene E.

Harget, 88, of The Brethren Home, New Oxford, formerly of West Manheim Township, died Wednesday afternoon, May 6, 1992, at The Brethren Home where he had been a resident for eight years. and McSherrystown Moose. Surviving are one son, Charles A. Smith, 418 Delone McSherrystown; one grandson; three sisters, Doris N. Smith and Helen S.

Trostle, both of 429 Main McSherrystown, and Lorraine S. Alwood, 221 Kennedy Court, Hanover. The funeral will be Friday, meet-ing at Hicks Funeral Home, McSherrystown, at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Annunciation at 9 a.m. His pastor, the Rev.

Paul M. Miller, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening with prayers at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.

James G. Feltz NEW OXFORD James G. Feltz, 73, formerly of New Oxford, died this morning, May 7, 1992, at Green Acres, Gettysburg. Kenneth C. Cullison BIGLERVILLE Kenneth Clarence Cullison, 53, of 2840 Table Rock Road, Biglerville, died Tuesday, May 5, 1992, at Gettysburg Hospital. Born in Gettysburg, he was the son of Clarence D. and Irene M. Stoner Cullison of Gettysburg.

MM Maryland Douglas L. Lenhart FINKSBURG Douglas LeRoy 66, of Finksburg, died Tuesday, May 5, 1992, at Greater Baltimore Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Nebraska, he was the son of the late Conrad and Catherine Roth Lenhart. He was the husband of Elizabeth Desmond Lenhart. Mr.

Lenhart was retired from the Social Security Administration. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the Firm Foundation Rock Church in Westminster. Surviving also are three sons, Eric Lenhart of Wyoming, Steven Lenhart of Baltimore and Michael Lenhart of Marston; three sisters, Leta Lenhart and Carolyn Lenhart, both of Nebraska and Eleanor Van-dell of Colorado; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1 1 a.m. Saturday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S.

Main Hampstead, with his minister the Rev. Thomas DiMaggio officiating. Burial will be private. Circuit Court Judge Raymond E. Beck, to be held without bail.

Bryson, formerly of Deep Run Road, lived only about one mile from the Deep Run Hardware Store where Therit was killed. The storekeeper was found murdered behind his counter, from a gunshot wound to the head. If convicted on all seven counts, Bryson could face two life sentences for the first degree murder and felony murder charges. Wednesday, in the March 25 murder of Melrose storeowner, Charles Therit. The youths were located and told to leave the area. MCSHERRYSTOWN POLICE TUESDAY 5:24 p.m. A one-vehicle accident on Walnut Street resulted in minor injuries and the vehicle was towed. John Lawrence, 58, 908 Linden McSherrystown, told police the accelerator of his Chevrolet Blazer stuck causing the vehicle to travel at a high rate of speed out of the parking lot of the McSherrystown Home Association, down Walnut Street where it struck a steel and cement retaining post, chain link fence, and ornamental bushes and trees, property owned by Mark Stock, 360 Ridge Ave. 10:10 p.m.
