The gleam of the lustrous satin is supposed to represent Truth, a dolphin denotes that Truth is an actual living and moving presence, but a silken cord held by fairies in sea shells gives limit to its bounds while a suspended anchor reaching the very edge of the robe shows that Hope can extend above and below all obstacles, and will not be confined or restricted. Above Truth and Hope the beauty of a lite of industry is illustrated in exquisite floral designs, over which hover silkworm butterflies and honey bees, while the crown of all is Love, represented by a heart pierced by an arrow sent from the bow of a charming Cupid. The low bodice is garnished with dainty old point lace, which not only borders neck and sleeves, but is arranged from shoulders down corsage in shell fall, to form a point at the waist line, and down on skirt in cascade finish to the hand painted front, culminating at each side center in large clusters of beautiful roses. The original dress above described was constructed in tho establishment of Homer, Colladay of this city.

The Easter Parasol. A most artistic and charming conceit is a seasonable realization of a Southern Easter Day in a novel parasol, designed by a special artist at Sharpless Sons. The border is of bronze brocade, embossed in vines of wild variegated honeysuckles and yellow jasmine blossoms, with edge finish of moss fringe, interspersed with vine tendrils, and tiny sprays of the two flowers at intervals, all around, but half hidden amid the fall of graceful moss. The handle is of natural wood, unbarked and rough. The upper or body of parasol is of spring green satin, brocaded with white hawthorn blossoms, and branches of palo pink crab apple flowers.

On one side, extending from the very top to almost he lower edge, is a garni turOiOr graduated cascade of point Mauresquc lace, filling a gore, and bordering another, whileabove the lace, and in the same form, arc sprays and clusters of artificial flowers and leaves, in exact imitation of those embossed and brocaded on the fabric. Near the top of the parasol in the midst of lace and flowers is a dainty mossy nest containing three tiny sutin eggs, and upon its edge partly concealed by a fall ot riJILADELPnTA NOT PHILADELPHIA NUT BARNTTM. PARK l)Vl)IMN. BoorirH MAMiiriiv's TaorBAOofRS. STANDARD Ci.auiie Du VAU DALYM Odettr. WALLACK'S YOUIK. SOME OF THE EASTER BONNETS Stylish Carnitines, With Some Elaborate Description of Flowers and Feathers.

Accurate knowledge of the correct styles in millinery must be of decided advantage to fashionable ladies this spring, for a mistake in the choice of a hat or a bonnet is considered unpardonable hut how such knowledge can be attained is as yot a matter of doubt, for in no two houses in Now York or Philadelphia are the shapes and garnishiugs exactly alike in truth it might well be imagined that thefashionsof distinct countries wero illustrated, or reproduced, so varied are the forms and decorative features of millinery in different establishments in the two cities. Ono house sustains the immense Tatienco hat, with rather low crown and wido brim, and in direct contradiction shows the smallest imaginable capote for the favored bonnet. Another brings forward a Sir Walter hat, with upturned briin and long gracefully flowing plumes, and advocates the poko bonnet for middle aged ladies, and so on through the entire list, each ono with one or moro specialties in hats and bonnets, which aro pronouueed the leading styles most positively. SHAPES AND SIZES OF HATS. From personal inspection a very convenient conclusion may he arrived at as to the most fashionable shapes and sizes of both hats and bonnets, and that is this, the most popular hats are the large and medium sized, with straight, flat, curved, indented and upturned brims, while in bonnets there aro pokes, capotes, cottages and century shapes, very large, medium and extremely small, the latter being specially adapted for evening wear, operas or theatres, as they do not obstruct the view liko the auuoying English hats of last winter.

According to a reliable European authority thero is a larner choice in hats than bonnets. Some of the most important are covered liko the bonnets with beads, the beaded lace falling softly over the face. They are often bent into a three cornered form. The Marlborough is a large, flat shape, worn slightly on one side of the head, and is singularly becoming; it is made in laco and Tuscan straw, and is trimmed with long, shaded feathers. Much of tho split shiny straw is used, also tho soft, pliablo braids and chips in many shades, with Panama and Leghorns.

Langtry" bonnets are popular; they ate flat and round and may bo trimmed in a variety of ways. A brown straw in this shape has yellow buttercups, another pink daisies and wall flowers, while the brim of ono is lined with grenat velvet and tho outside is garnished with faille lace, ribbon and a cluster of scarlet poppies, and most charming bonnets aro still made with beaded crowns, brown, bronze, green, ruby, amber, pink, red, bluo and gold, with beaded lace falling over tho coronet of flowers in fruit and strings of tho pretty lace edged brocaded or moire ribbon. A STYLISH BONNET. Very stylish is a bonnet with a row of flowers in front and another forming a curtain, over which falls jetted laco. Both rows aro placed underneath the straw.

Large steel, jet and iridescent and illuminated beads aro now dotted over tho flat crowned bonnets, which havo a cluster of feathers and an aigrette on the left sido. A pretty bonnet of thisdescription is trimmed with the new watered ribbon, which has single rose buds scattered all over, and still another ribbon has a narrow bordering of rosebuds on both sides. Sometimes the plumes used to garnish hats are secured in front under large loops of ribbon or clusters of flowers, and are passed about tho crown and left to fall over the back. Others arc clustered in front or on the sides, and still others are supplemented by a coronet of small but very full tips. These feathers are in self colors, bright tones and variously shaded from contre stem to end of flue in two or three colors, say from cream to brown and tipped with pink.

Again they are colored in stripes across or in diagonal flakes, and sometimes a feather is in flots of three or four decided hues. BEAUTY OP THE FLOWEKS. The flowers aro even more beautiful than the feathers. All the field and garden blossoms aro reproduced, but whilo in formation they aro true to nature, tho colors are decidedly original, that is so far as limited botanical experience has made one familiar with the flowers of the period however the colors aro esthetic, and may perhaps be tho result of artistic culture, still it must be confessed that pink and pale blue water lilies do not grow in the waters about here, nor do tho wood brown daisies bloom in our fields. Vines of hyacinth flowers aro very pretty in palo pink, light blue and other delicate tints, but how they grow in vine form is a mystery, for they are not so easy to wreath as jonquilles and butter and eggs, with their flexible, pliant stems.

Large garlands of buttercups, variously colored pansies and other flowers aro twined about hats and bonnets and fall over tho back of brim, hut most beautiful are tho clusters of exquisite roses, as perfect as nature's very own, in every shade from pink hearted cream to old gold, rose and scarlet, with flexible stems and harmless thorns, with sprays of tinted wild roses and wreaths of the many petaled multiflora. ATTRACTIVE EASTER BONNETS. Some of tho ordered Easter bonnets are very attractive; one, a small, bluo capote of silk, is veiled with silk lace embroidery executed by hand, with strings to match, and trimmed with blue and pink tips and aigrette; another, with crown of gathered pink gauze in a full puff, has tho brim of black goffered gauze, laco ribbon strings, fastened with tiny agraffes, and on the outside are pink marabout feathers. A striking bonnet is formed of moire and satin stripes in violet and cardinal, with moiro strings; it is garnished with tips and plumes, shaded from violet to bright red on one sido and in the back, while in front and on the other side aro clusters of gold and purple pansies, and shaded convolvulus blossoms. Most stylish is a widn brim bat in cream straw with crown encircled by palo bluo ostrich tips, arranged in a coronet with a brim border outside and inside of plumes in tho same color.

An elegant hat of Manilla straw in terra cotta color is lined with navy bluo velvet and bordered with two rows of largo earth colored pearl beads. Tho brim is upturned on one side and secured with largo loop bow of palo bluo gros grain ribbon, largo clusters of light bluo tips and aigrette with plume falling slightly over this shapely brim. A pattern hat of split straw is trimmed with old gold surah, brown velvet, gracefully arranged plumes in shaded wood color and brown beaded balls. ODDITIES IN BONNETS. An elegant bonnet, with straw and gold beads on crown, has largo satin bow ovor front, with a wreath of cream, pink tinged roses beneath and old gold strings.

An exceedingly odd bonnet has ties of terra cotta laco, the foundation being of mahogany brown straw, with two rows of terra cotta straw laco let in around tho crown. Around brim is a wreath of terra cotta and mahogany brown leaves, while plumes in tho same color fall over back and sides. A becoming little all'air is of satin straw faced with pink crepe two plumes aro passed around crown and meet in front. A largo double loop bow, with handsome pearl and gold headed pins adorn tho back of this hat. Bather odd is a bonnet in drab straw with crown trimming of green velvet and long shaded green plumes in what is now called meadow green.

Most unique is a crepe bonnet embroidered in green and gold, tho front garnished with folds of crepe, largo clusters of green and yellow flowers ana cream aigrette, and quite as pretty is a bonnet with crown and strings formed of point mau rosquo lace over satin, tho brim linod with pur plo velvet, and bordered with three wreaths of purple and goldon pansies on the sido is a finish of cream roses and buds, heliotropes and very largo field violets. TUB POKE BONNET. An English straw bonnet in poke shape, garnet in coloring, has loop bows in front of very wide garnet ribbon, passing around stoeple crown, with finish of long loops and cuds. The brim is surrounded by variegated or shaded from cream to canary, and on to garnet double pinks and gold dusted garnet heliotropes. Tho brim is lined with garnet and garnished with revirs of Oriental lace, ornaments iu cut and illuminated steel.

In the front ovor crown are clusters of feathers, which pass over sides from under jabot of lace, which also forms tho strings. A coaching hat with jet embroidered crown is trimmed with a full jabot of Toledo lace, which covers tliobrim and is scon red with jet crescent, while the back is finished with clusters of handsome tips and plumes, and a peculiar hut has brim formed of shaded cardinal sweet pea blossoms. On top is a large butterfly of shaded beads, and in the hack is a fall of richly beaded lace.
