A harp and organ recital is scheduled to be presented at Emmanuel United Church of Chnst, 124 Broadway, on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. by Jane Kauffman Brye, guest harpist, and Karen Buckwalter, organist and director of church music at Emmanuel. Mrs. Brye is a graduate of Elizabethtown College who has taught strings and conducted orchestra in the Conestoga Valley School District for the past nine years.

She is principal harpist with the Reading Symphony Orchestra and nas appearea as soloist with the Lancaster and Harrisburg Symphonies. She is married to Peter J. Brye, cellist, who is assisting her in the recital. He is direcotr of the orchestra at Millersville State College and is also a member of the Reading Symphony and Lancaster Opera Workshop Orchestra. Mrs.

Buckwalter, a graduate of Westminster Choir College, Princeton, N.J. is organist and director of several choirs, including two handbell choirs, a recorder consort and sacred dance choir at Emmanuel. She is an active composer whose first published handbell composition was released in January. The concert is to include works by Handel, Debussy, Faure and Salzedo. The public is invited to attend.

A free-will offering will be received. HOLTZSCHWAMM -Paradise (Holtzschwamm) United Church of Christ, Tbomasville RD 1, plans to conduct a scrap drive Oct. 22. Papers may be placed in the room of the church anytime for the drive. For pick-up, individuals should contact Ron Buser, Brian Hof-fheins or Ann Strayer.

Those helping with the pickup are to be at the church at 7 p.m. Oct. 22. Rally Weekend planned SEVEN VALLEYS Sharing the Living Hope with Others is the theme of a Rally Weekend planned for Friday and Saturday at St. Pauls (Zeiglers) Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys.

The Rev. Dr. Howard J. McCamey, bishop of the Central Pennsylvania Synod of the Lutheran Church in America, is scheduled to speak at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Sweaters, dress-length pieces of woven-blend fabric, layettes, school kits, health kits, soap, quilts and blankets are needed. Womens clothing, which will be sent to Brazil, should be lightweight skirts, blouses, dresses ana sweaters. Donations will be accepted until Oct.

31. YOUTH GROUP New officers of the Youth Group of Christ (Roths) Lutheran Church are Mike Kraft, president; Brian Myers, vice president; Lori Schroll, treasurer; and Chris Zeigler, secretary. The Rev. Dennis L. Weidler will be installed as pastor of St.

Bartholomews United Church of Christ, Hanover RD 1, during a service beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. C. Floyd Emerson will deliver the installation message.

An informal fellowship will follow the service. Members and their families and friends are invited to attend. Weidler is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weidler of Annville.

He received a bachelors degree from Juniata College in 1972 and a master of divinity degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1982. He was ordained on Sept. 19 at Salem United Church of Christ, Campbelllown. He and his wife, the former Kay Olivia Lineaweaver, and their son will live on Pine Grove Road, Hanover RD 1.
