At 5:40 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a domestic disturbance. At 7:23 a.m.

Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported cigarette butts and in the basement of her home in the 400 block of Fourth Street South. At 9:04 a.m. Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported she thought someone came to her door at 4 a.m. Sunday. The woman said she was falling asleep at the time and was not sure if it happened.

At 11: 57 a.m. Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids man reported he was scammed out of money. At 12:16 p.m. Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids man re- ported another man entered the home in the 200 block of Plover Street and then left. At 12:26 p.m.

Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids man reported he was scammed out of $1,500. At 1:07 p.m. Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids business reported being scammed out of $3,000. At 3:11 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a two-vehi- cle crash in the 200 block of Eighth Street South.

At 8:28 p.m. Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported her girlfriend was drunk and assaulting her son. At 9:30 p.m. Monday, an Adams woman reported her friends left her at a job interview in Wisconsin Rapids and she had nowhere to go. At 1:11 a.m.

Tuesday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported she was scammed by a man who took her money and made her buy him shoes. Wood County At 7:17 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a vehicle in a ditch near the intersection of 20th Street South and Airport Avenue, Grand Rapids. At 7:45 a.m. Monday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported she hit a tree with her vehicle about 5 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m. Monday, the Cary town chairman re- ported someone had taken between 300 and 350 pounds of road signs and brackets from the Cary Town Hall, 5688 Accola Road, Cary. At 11:32 a.m.

Monday, arrested a woman on a warrant in the 100 block of South Section Street, Ne- koosa. At 11:38 a.m. Monday, a Nekoosa woman reported identity theft. At 2:11 p.m. Monday, the Port Edwards Fire and Po- lice departments rescued a dog that had fallen through the ice near the intersection of Ver Bunker Avenue and Wisconsin River Drive, village of Port Edwards.

At 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported she had pain pills stolen from the 1600 block of Oak Street on Christmas. At 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, a city employee reported damage at Robinson Park, 1600 Apricot Street. At 1:52 p.m.

Tuesday, an employee at Walmart, 4331 Eighth St. reported someone stole a speaker. At p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported someone going through and damaging vehicles in the 1500 block of 23rd Avenue South. At 3:06 p.m.

Tuesday, a Wisconsin Rapids man re- ported a woman ran him the road near the intersec- tion of Eighth Street South and Sweat Avenue. At 3:12 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a three-ve- hicle crash near the intersection of Lincoln Street and East Riverview Expressway. At 3:36 p.m. Tuesday, a woman in a wheelchair reported she was hit by a car in the 3100 block of Eighth Street South.

At 3:44 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported on Wood Avenue, from Elm to Sampson streets. At 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, a caller deported a truck with a loud exhaust near the intersection of Second and Gaynor avenues. At 8:31 p.m.

Tuesday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman called 911 during a domestic disturbance. At 1:04 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a Christ- mas Tree in the middle of the road near the intersec- tion of Gaynor and 26th avenues. Wood County At 9:11 a.m. Tuesday, an employee at the Wood County Alternative School, 6471 Cameron Ves- per, reported an out of control student who was ping tables, throwing hot and screaming at At 9:14 a.m.

Tuesday, a Nekoosa man reported a woman posting things on Facebook about the caller and a few other people. At 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, a person reported someone in a vehicle threw a gallon plastic container across the street near the intersection of Second Street and Ver Bunker Avenue, village of Port Edwards. At 3:47 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a vehicle hit a trailer on 80th Street North, near the railroad tracks, in Grand Rapids.

At 4:59 p.m. Tuesday, a village of Port Edwards man reported a man raped his sister the previous night. At 5:27 p.m. Tuesday, a Nekoosa woman reported her husband took their truck and refused to tell her where it was. At 7:26 p.m.

At 1:51 a.m. Wednesday, a Saratoga woman report- ed a man had beat up a woman at the house.

POLICE REPORTS Evers joins Kaul in supporting disarmament law MADISON Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers is joining with fellow Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul in supporting a law allowing judges to take away from people determined to be a threat to themselves or others. Kaul voiced his support for a so-called law during his inaugural speech Monday. And on Wednes- day, Evers told reporters that he would also support such a law if documentation to prove that is incapable of owning and using a Thirteen states have some version of a law. Wispolitics.com reported Monday that Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said he was to the of the law in Wisconsin but was con- cerned about the scope being too broad.

Democrat says lame-duck session violated open meetings MADISON A disabled Wisconsin Democrat says an all-night lame-duck legislative session last month violated the open meetings law because he had to leave after spending too much time in his wheelchair. A 2010 crash left state Rep. Jimmy Anderson paralyzed. He sit in his wheelchair for more than a day without health problems. He had to go home hours before the Assembly voted because he had to get out of the chair.

Anderson aide Logan Vidal said open meetings pro- visions say government bodies exclude duly elected members from meetings. Vidal said Anderson plans to a complaint with Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne. The open meetings law allows prosecutors to lawsuits seeking to void votes at illegal meetings. State rep officially resigns to join cabinet MADISON State Rep. Peter Barca has re- signed from the Legislature to join Gov.

Tony cabinet. Evers picked Barca, a Kenosha Democrat, to lead the state Department of Revenue last week. He was sworn into the Assembly on Monday and then turned in his resignation letter later that day. Evers can now schedule a special election to Bar- seat. His spokeswoman, Melissa immediately respond to an email inquiring about when Evers might schedule that contest.

Barca served in the Legislature from 1985 until 1993, served one term in Congress and won election to the Assembly again in 2009. He served continuously in the body since then, including a stint as minority leader, before joining Evers cabinet. Kenosha man accused of striking bicyclist, leaving scene MOUNT PLEASANT Police are recommending charges of hit-and-run causing death against a 71- year-old man accused of striking a bicyclist and driving away in Racine County. Eighteen-year-old Teren Cagle, of Racine, died after he was struck Monday night while biking on Highway 32 in Mount Pleasant. Cagle was transported to Froed- tert Hospital in suburban Milwaukee where he later died.

The Journal Times reports investigators say they re- covered paint chips and vehicle parts at the scene that led them to arrest the Kenosha man. Associated Press STATE BRIEFS.
