Anti-FDR preacher Gerald Smith dies GLENDALE, Calif. (UPD) The Rev. Gerald L. K. Smith major political figure of the 19305 whose fiery country pulpit oratory praised Huey Long and denounced Franklin Roosevelt died Thursday at age 78.
