Sponsored by the Valley Masons to observe" public school week, the contest will close J. P. Hall Asks Gold Price Boost J. P. Hall, 1802 West Cliff drive, president of the Western Mining council, has pledged support to a request stnt to President Dwight Eisenhower asking that the price of gold be boosted from $35 to $100 per ounce, it was reported this morning.

The request was wired by Merrill E. Shotip, president of the Golden Cycle Mining company, Cripple Creek, Colo. She also is survived by a grandchild. FUNERALS JOSEPH F. TONE SR. Funeral for Joseph Francis Tone who lived at 118 May avenue, was from the Wessendorf Chapel this morning at 8:45 o'clock then to Holy Cross church where at 9 o'clock a requiem mass was celebrated. Interment followed in Holy Cross cemetery.

Auguct Hammond Stott Rites Set August Hammond Stott, 8D, a native ol Massachusetts and resident of Ben Lomond for the last three years, died yesterday in a local hospital. His home was on Glen Arbor road.

He is survived by his widow, Ruby Mary Stott of San Francisco. Graveside services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. in the Golden Gate national cemetery in San Bruno. The Irvin M. Smith and Son funeral chapel is in charge of arrangements.

BERT JACKSOM MOVES INTO IOOF HOME Bert Jackson, 92, a member of Santa Cruz IOOF lodge for 55 years, moved into the Odd Fellows home at Saratoga Saturday.
