Tuiwfiy, April THE DENTON RECORD-CHRONICLE PAGE mi PTA Conference Will Open Tomorrow For 2-Day Meet Second District of the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers will its conference here on the Texas State College for Women campus with Mrs. Jasper Barren, president of the district, and lirs. Mary Lamkin, aide to the president, presiding. The formal opening will be at 1 p.m. In the TSCW main auditorium when there is a processional of district board managers, stats representatives and guests.

Miss Ruth Andrews, district music chairman, will lead the songs during the conference. Following greetings from Chester Strickland, superintendent of Denton schools, -and Mrs. August Schluter, president of the Denton County Council of PTA, reports will beard from the conference committees. Mrs. Henry Mings of Tyler will speak on "PTA's Part in Civil Defense" and will later lead a v.orkshop on civil defense.

Smith will lead a workshop for superintendents and principals. Dr. Imogene Bentloy will give the address at the banquet Wed nesday at 6:30 p.m. in the south east dining room of Hubbard Hall. Her subject will be "Safeguarding Our Freedom Through Responsible Citizenship." Special music will be given by the Denton High Srfioo A Capella choir under the direct- on of Charles Williams.

Stinnett Texas PTA president, will give greetings to the delegates. Mrs. Barren and Mrs. John I.asater, district vice presi dent, will preside. The local board of education will be hosts for a dinner tonight in Marquis Hall honoring executive board members, their husbands and members of the local planning committee.

Chester Strickland wil! be master of cermonies and Floyd Graham will be in charge of music. Mrs. Helen Wright is in charge ol decorations. Wednesday morning the Chamber of Commerce is honoring tlie board members with a break fast at the Southern Hotel when Mrs. Jack parkey of Krum wil 1 be hostess representing the loca PTA.

Allen Richardson, Llnwood Roberson and Doyle Thompson. 117 Descendants Of Stover Family Meet In Denton For Family Reunion Descendants of the late Abraham and Margaret Stover, pioneer residents of Denton County, met Sunday in Hubbard Hall with ill relatives present for a family reunion.

The Stovers came from Arkansas to Dcnlon County in 18S3 and settled east of Lewisville on the Office Branch. A farmer and rancher, the late Stover and his wife were the parents of seven children: Mrs. J. W. Davis, Mrs.

Paul Miles and John Slover all of Denton, and the late Mmes. J. F. Stinchcomb, J. R.

Sherrod and L. Dudley and the late llr. W. A. Stover and Mr.
