Then pay more for it. You're bound to have questions about price increases.

Where is all that additional money going? How much of it is Shell getting? Are these price increases helping make more gasoline available? their customers using May 1973 prices as the base point These increases have come largely from worldwide increases in the price of crude oit the raw material out of which gasoline is made. Part of the increases since August 1973 have benefited Shell's profits. Part have not as explained below. Here, we'll try to answer these questions insofar as Shell is concerned. Phase IV Price Regulations Last August under Phase IV, the Federal Government adopted regulations that control domestic petroleum prices.

Short term workshops will feature breadbaklng, decorative Easter Eggs, organic gardening, indoor gardening, bicycling, reproduction control, backpacking, a women's film festival and a women's retreat for a week-end at the YWCA's Camp If these increases had not been allowed, Shell believes there would be less gasoline available in the United States today and tomorrow.

Shell buys significant quantities of the crude oil it refines from other domestic producers. We have been allowed to pass through the increased costs of these purchases. Shell makes no aMitkmal profit'Jrom this S.S cents. Value of crude oil Shell produces in IX S. is up, too.

As we mentioned above, in order to stimulate increased crude oil production in this country, the government has allowed the price of domestic crude oil to go up within specified limits. i Shell produces a substantial amount of itsxrude oil requirements. We've been allowed to pass through the increased value of the crude oil that's processed through our refineries. This 2.2 cents has resulted in millions of dollars of additional revenue for Shell Part of this revenue goes for taxes. Another part helps pay the increasing costs of running our business.

The rest does contribute to total company profits. Part of these profits is used to pay dividends. Shell shareholders have received the same dividend for the past five per share. The remainder helps to pay for finding and producing more oil and getting it to the people who need it in the form they can use it. Why prices are different from station to station.
