WXIA 1 JUNE 3RD, 1973 CASE: MURDER OF RHONDA JEAN BEVIER The Piedmont Road housewife and part time data processor was abducted as she was walking to work near her home. Her body was found on an abandoned road in Forsyth County. She had been beaten and strangled.

$5,000 REWARD FEBRUARY 6TH, 1973 CASE: AUTOMOBILE HIT AND RUN FATALITY OF LARRY QUINN The DeKalb County Patrolman was struck and killed by a car driven by a fleeing robbery suspect. Quinn had set up a roadblock on Buford Highway and was standing beside his police car when he was hit. $5,000 REWARD FEBRUARY 12TH, 1973 CASE: MURDER OF SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD STEVE VAUGHN The body of the high school senior was found behind a house in southeast Atlanta. No clear motive for the murder was established, although the victim had apparently been robbed. A suspect in this case was recently arrested and has been indicted for murder.

$2,000 REWARD FEBRUARY 21ST, 1973 CASE: MURDER OF JOHNNY DILBECK The popular Grant Park Zookeeper was discovered dead in his Parks Department maintenance truck parked in southeast Atlanta, a short distance from his home. He had been shot to death. Robbery may have been the motive for the killing. $2,500 REWARD APRIL 4TH, 7TH AND MAY 3RD, 1973 CASE: SERIES OF BURGLARIES OF RARE COINS Valuable coin collections were taken from homes and apartments in DeKalb County. Police hoped to link the burglaries with coins being traded on the black market.

RAINWATER The liquor store clerk was shot to death by a bandit who robbed the College Park store. $1,000 REWARD DECEMBER 24TH, 1973 CASE: MURDER OF EIGHT YEAR OLD SHERRI LYNN SWALLEY The Ohio child was found' dead near the west Atlanta apartment of a friend she and her family were visiting. She had been brutally beaten and repeatedly stabbed.
