S. treasury volunteers working with the savings bonds program will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the bond program in 1961, Joe H. Carson, Adair county chairman, said this week.

District and state committee chairmen will meet in Tulsa on December 8 to plan promotional activities for the year. With the 1960 promotional year drawing to a close, Carson said that citizens of the county have purchased during the first 10 months, $140,188.00 in and bonds. This is 73.78 percent of the $190,000.00 goal for the year. ROAD PLANS ARE DISCUSSED At the last monthly meeting of the Westville Comunity Improvement Club, County Commissioner Owen Buffington talked on the local road situation and plans for farm and county roads.

Representative-elect Bill Harper. a special guest at the meeting. discussed the Chewey road project and assured the club that this would be the number one project on his list as he begins hi.s term in the coming session of Legislature. He was made an honorary member of the local club. A new highway and roads committee was created with Harold Kay Hart appointed as chairman Presidert.

Ray Stanfill. Mrs Kenneth Morris was in harge of the program and introduced the speakers. The Christmas program this vear will be under the leadership of the club members and plans will be completed at the next meeting, set for December 1. Mrs Alice Simpson of the Oak Hill community has been suffering from a bout with the flu is now able to be up some at this time. Mrs Simpson had been called to the bedside of her daughter Mrs David Heibert in Miami and while there became ill.

Mr and Mrs Billy Jeffries and daughter, Paula Sue and Billy Dean Jeffries all of Muskogee, Mr and Mrs David Heibert and son David of Miami, were Thanksgiving guests of Mrs Mau-die Jeffries and Mrs Alice Simpson. BASKETBALL SEASON TO OPEN SOON With the football season now over, attention has now turned to ba ketball. Coach Sam Taylor has only letlermen for the bovs' team, Phillip Clinton and Jack Martin.

The Sam Dick Starrs are the proud owners of a new Olds-mobile. Congratulations. Joe and Mattie Starr were Fort Smith visitors on Monday. Little Nancy Strauss brightened our community with her presence last weekend. Sympathy is extended to Wor-yah Campbell whose uncle Boss Campbell was buried on Monday.

Several have been ill during the past week. Among them were Mrs Woryah Campbell, Raymond Fletcher, Mrs Narcie Fletcher, Mr and Mrs Lawrence Worley and children and Mr and Mrs E. C. Carter. Mr and Mrs Roy Lindsey of Ada visited over the holidays in the home of their daughter, Betty Worley and family.

Winifred Maggard, son of Ed Maggard, had the thrill of his life when he shot and killed a deer.

He beat his dad and other friends. Mrs Rose E. Black, who was in the hospital last week is home but still cant walk by herself. Mrs Black covets the prayers of all. Thanksgiving and Sunday visitors in the Henry Black home were Mr and Mrs Jim Black and daughter Jan, Mr and Mrs Fred Black and three little girls, Mr and Mrs A.

T. Parker of Fayetteville, Mr and Mrs Roy Black and Mrs Bessie Fleig and daughter Betty. Other visitors were Mr and Mrs E. B. Gifford and son Jesse, Mr and Mrs Ed Maggard and children, Mr and Mrs Virgil Black, Miss Phyllis Maggard.

Mrs Addie Kelley and children Carolyn and Freddie and Curly Pollard. Mrs Ed Maggard and girls attended a Stanely party in the home of Mrs Leo Beard Saturday night. Visitors in the Bessie Fleig home were Mr and Mrs Bert Fleig, Mr James Fleig, Mrs Lillie Cloer of Wichita, and Mr and Mrs Jonnie Kerby and boys. Miss Carolyn Kelley of Tulsa spent the holidays with her mother Mrs Addie Kelley and brother Fred. As I am not feeling too good I will leave my closing thought and prayer.

Club Meets Stoney Point Home Demonstration club met in the home of Mrs Mike Ixng Thursday, November 17, with seven members and the agent. Miss Morton, present.

Pumpkin and mince pie and coffee were served to the guests. A Pot Luck supper was held at the community building Saturday night for the entire community. Visiting and singing comprised the entertainment.

Mr and Mrs Roy McCollum and Jerry, Junior and Timmy, of Westville Mr and Mrs Irvin McCalif of Vinita were Sunday visitors in the Leonard Baird home. Sue Ritchie spent the holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs Cecil Ritchie. Mrs Tom Keeter was a patient in the hospital last week but is much unproved at this time. Terry Baird has the mumps. Sammy Rutherford has just recovered from them.

Holiday visitors in the Beaty home were his sister and child from Louisiana. The Fred Langleys broi house is completed. It will hoi 10.000 chickens. Wallace Rutherford made trip to Chicago last week. The Duward Keeters are building an addition on their house.

DEL MONTE 0 West of Watts Mrs Dick Parris is doing nicely since major surgery at Memorial hospital, in Siloam Springs. Mr and Mrs Roy Lee Garrett drove his parents, Mr and Mrs Roy Garrett to Phoenix, Arizona, last week. The Lee McCoys and Lynn Lu-pers had planned a Thanksgiving dinner at their cabin on the Illinois river, however both Mr McCoy and Mr Luper have been ill. Mrs Viola Peal had her house keeping things moved to Westville last week. Mr and Mrs Melvin Henson are having to spend nights with his father in order to be near him.

Frank Box visited Fred H. Gordon. Thursday evening. Sadie Ruth and Welch Cole visited their grandmother, Pearl Welch Saturday. Bill Miller was sent to work at the most southern part of the Kansas City Southern railroad this week.

Roam Ross went shopping at Waldroops grocery Friday. J. B. Morris had company from Siloam Springs Sunday. Mrs Bessie McCoy, Walter and Rosa visited P.

L. Henson Sunday. Paul Ward and his boss burned some tall grass Saturday. Mr and Mrs Loyd Rhodes visited Fred Obermeyer. Pastor, Sam Chaudion visited Johnson Mannon Saturday night Mr and Mrs Dare Cummins visited Mrs Crittenden before Sunday School Sunday.

A large number of folks attended the dinner which was held at the Illinois River church Sunday. Last Week Marv Fisher has just returned from Houston, Texas, where she visited her daughter, Mrs J. W. Ross and family. Mr and Mrs A.

C. Thompson, Jim Fain and John Parris plaved oomiroes with Fred H. Gordon Monday evening. Mrs A. C.

Thompson was at Jay have dental care. Mr and Mrs Raymond ad bab'es spent Sunday with his parents. Lee Kelley has work in California. if he is able to sell his place in Kel Hollow. Rose Parris is suffering with an attack of the flu.

Walter McCoy took calves to the sale at Tahlequah on Saturday. A Thompson sold some calves in Fayetteville. Mrs John Fain is visiting Mr and Mrs Chester Hampton this week. Tom Sand's family were late to Sunday school Sunday, due to Mrs Tom Sands suffering a slight blackout Mr and Mrs George Mounce were unable to attend Sunday services because of ill health. Lee Wyley and others have done a noticeable amount of work at the Illinois River church the past week.

They reinforced the tables in the Sunday school room. The tables had been used for some 22 years. Mrs Will Master is slowly improving since her stroke, which is causing difficulty with her walking. Mrs Ella Beavers is home again after a visit with her sister in Arkansas. Mrs Ellen Henson, who suffered a stroke November 8, cannot be released from Memorial hospital until they can find someone to stay with them.

0 West Peavine Mrs Delores Bean and sons, Eddie and Timmy of Stilwell, took Thanksgiving dinner with her mother Mrs Aria Anders. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to Mrs Ruby Lee Gilbert and son, Doug, in the loss of their husband and father. There were 58 who attended Sunday school at the Peavine church. Birthday offering was given by Tina Ketcher. Mrs Wilson and her sister and Frank Dice attended church here Sunday night Mrs June Fadis, of Caney, called in the Aria Anders home Monday morning.

We are glad to have Mrs Lee Cragg home from the hospital. Those visiting in the Aria Anders home Saturday night were Mr and Mrs Jerome Patterson and children, of Oklahoma City; Mrs Delores Bean and children, of Stilwell; Misses Bertie and Zola Anders, Faye and Bill Baird and R. G. Ritter, all of Vian.
