Dave Risser went 3-for-4 with a triple while Craig Boyer had three hits in four trips to lead Heisey's Diner to an 11-6 6 victory over Concrete.

Mike Stewart struck out eight and gave up just two hits in pitching Transportation to a 10-0 victory over Laucks. Mike Nordall and Glenn Weaver each had three hits for the winners. Tourney Slated The Country House women's softball team will hold a slow-pitch softball tournament Aug. 16-18 in Newmanstown. Don's Place Scores 14-9 Win Don's Place ripped Dunkin Donuts last night in City-County Class Softball action. The winners upped its record to 14-9, pounding out 13 hits. Dave Brown picked up the win, and also slugged a double and triple. In other action fourth place Jolly Roger pounded out 17 hits to down Raiger's 11-6. Bob Adams picked up the win, while Jay Brown suffered the loss.

Raiger's bats were far from quiet themselves as they pounded out 14 hits. According to the New York Post, Holmes balked at fighting in Atlantic City and preferred going for his 49th straight victory in Las Vegas. If Holmes wins, he will equal Rocky Marciano's record of being the only heavyweight champion to retire undefeated.
