Phillips, 79, formerly oldest member of the state senate, died suddenly here yesterday. Sen.

Phillips, apparently on the way from his office to his home, was stricken with a heart attack as he was about to board streetcar. He as pronounced dead on entrance at County Emergency hospital. With him at the time was Elmer B. Mink. The former legislator had recovered from a previous heart attack a year ago.

He was taken to St. Nicholas hospital Sheboygan, while trying a case there in April, 1936. Mr. Phillips, a Democrat, was elected' state senator for the Sixth district in 1932 and served until he was defeated for re-election in November, 1936, by George Hampel, Progressive. He was an advocate of a program of economy in government, fewer and better laws and consolidation of governmental units.

William Lyon Phelps a broadcast of the Ross-Arm-strong fight three hours of variety i shows and a special foreign trade week program, are on tonight's radio schedules. Clem McCarthy and George Hicks will describe the Barney Ross-Henry Armstrong bout, for the welterweight championship, direct from the ring- side at Madison Square Garden Bowl and over WENR and the NBC Blue network, starting at 8 oclock, Madison time. The fight has attracted considerable attention among sport fans, because Armstrong, featherweight champion of the world, is going out of his class for the first time in a championship battle. RUDY VALLEE HOUR Dr. Phelps, Yale's distinguished author and professor, will be interviewed by Rudy Vallee during the broadcast over WTBA at 6 oclock tonight.

Dr. Philps will give some advice to 1938 graduates as well as tell some stories of Vallee 's days at Yale. REAGAN, a young insurance adjuster, breaks up with his wile Sheila Bromley) after she gives false testimony in order to get a new fur coat from Addison Richards, head of a fake injury ring. Reagan is fired, but secretly goes to the district attorney and gets his support for an investigation. The young man then goes into competition with Richards and his henchmen, and soon gets a reputation of being a smart fixer. Richards approaches Reagan and suggests they work together.

The play will reopen in San Francisco in August and then go on a tour which will include all the principal cities of the Middle West. Mr. Golden has concluded an interesting survey relative to out-of-town visitors to his New York production. During a period of from Apr. 2 to 30, Mr.

Golden found that over 16 per cent of those attending the New York show were from states outside of New York. He reports that 18 per cent of the audience were people living in New York state outside of the city; over 2 per cent patrons from foreign countries. Educated in private and public schools in Milwaukee, Mr. Phillips was a bookkeeper for the secretary of state from 1891 to 1895 and studied law at the University of Wisconsin and practiced here more than 40 years. He was a former chairman of the Democratic county committee and candidate for alderman from the Fifteenth, ward. JUNEAU, Wis.

When Dodge county deputies quit their search last night of the home of Herman Raabe at Minnesota Junction they counted up the cash the recluse had concealed and found it totaled $13,500, of which $475.50 was in geld. No relatives have appeared and the county has turned the body of Raabe. who died yesterday of a heart ailment, over to the Arthur Sielaff funeral parlors here. When it was seen the search would result in discovery of large sums of hidden cash in the home. Sheriff Walter Muschkopf was sworn in as administrator of the estate.

The sheriff was placed under $50,000 bond. The estate is expected to gross in excess of $48,000. Crowds of neighbors formed a ring around the old frame house while deputies went through papers from cellar to attic under directions of Kenneth E. Port, Dodge county district attorney. A guard was thrown around the house and the hunt was to be resumed today.

Besides cash, the search revealed between 25.000 and $30,000 is du? the recluses estate on farm- mortgages and nearly $6,000 on unsecured notes. Bank deposits of $8,100 and $1,200 have been discovered. Most of the money found today was in cigar boxes hidden under piles of paper. Dr. Jacksftti to Address Bethel Brotherhood Dr.
