Vines and Simone Simon To Make Guest Appearances IdentifyF ormer Prison Inmate As Kidnaper I Raseball Games White Sox vs. Wash- TODAY; One of the kidnapers of Mrs. Otto Schultz of Columbuz was believed identified yesterday as a 24-year-old former inmate of the stte reformatory at Green Bay. The man and his companion, who have terrorized southern and western Wisconsin for more than a week, are still at large.

The identification was made from photographs viewed by Berton Hines, Cumberland, whose stolen car was abandoned at Columbus by the men who kidnaped Mrs. Schultz and then drove off with her car. Hines and a woman companion had been fired on and then kidnaped for seven hours a week ago by the gunmen. They were not molested, but the robbers took Hines car. The gunmen have also exchanged shots with Stevens Point officers and fired at a Waupaca farmer.

Hines went to Green Bay with Zeke Douglas, Barron county deputy sheriff, and ran through a sheaf of photographs and identifications yesterday at the sheriffs office. Theres the vnan, Hines said at sight of one picture. Later in the afternoon Hines visited the suspect's father who lives on a rural route near Chippewa Falls. Officers from Chippewa Falls questioned the relatives. Dr.

Marion Bailey, 47, itinerant Christian minister, was sentenced yesterday by County Judge L. H.

Bancroft to three to five years at hard labor at Waupun prison. The minister, preacher of a rigid code of morals to his Excelsior congregation, may go to prison the same day his wife, now in the hospital after birth of their 10th child, returns home with the baby. It is expected that his wife will be released in a day or two. The Rev. Bailey yesterday waived the preliminary examination which was to have been held before Judge Bancroft Friday.

Without display of emotion, the Rev. Eailey announced his plea of guilty and asked the court for leniency. "I want to show this court and everybody concerned my desire to make an atonement for what I have done, Bailey said. There are circumstances which surround this affair which cannot be mentioned. "You who have posed as a minister of the Gospel have pleaded guilty to a heinous offense, Judge Bancroft said before passing sentence.

Dist. Atty. Sidney J. Hanson asked for such punishment as would prevent the recurrence of such a crime and would set an example. "This type of crime is becoming altogether too common, Hanson said.

Sheriff J. Ben McClaren said he would take Bailey to Waupun after Bailey's car was sold. The sheriff brought Bailey and the 16-year-old girl tack from Oregon after they were apprehended there last week. Baileys car was left there. Dodgeville Girl Will Graduate at Antioch YELLOW SPRINGS, O.

B. Warner Henry Kdlker Eugene Hood Lana Turner ADVENTURES OF MARCO POLO, now at the Orpheum theater, turns out to be a fanciful Hollywood conception of Marco Polo in China or "How Love Came to Gary Cooper and Sigrid Gurie In Ancient Cathay. What is consistently lacking is a sense of reality, even a romantic reality.

The picture frequently trembles on the verge of farce and, recovering itself in the nick of time, settles into the "fairly silly classification. The film introduces Sigrud Gurie, Samuel Goldwyns lateot find. Miss Gurie was born- in Brooklyn, N. but posed as a native of Norway until a divorce case revealed he- hoax. Miss Gurie was apparently told by the director to emote in melancholy Garbo fashion and in "The Adventures of Marco Polo fails to come within hailing distance of greatness.

She is nice to look at, however. TiERE are 5,000 extras to make sure the spectacle, filmed in sepia-tone, lacks nothing in size. Gary Cooper does little to advance his status as ranking star. EASTWOOD Don Terry in "Dangerous Adventure at 6:30, 8 and 9:15. whose wife, Binnie Barnes, tries to keep him from playing around with other girls and George Barbier is the wise Khan. His interpretation of the role too frequently bordered on the slapstick. The film tells of Marco Polo, the Venetian, sent to China by his father to negotiate trade agreements with the Great Khm. Enroute to Cathay he is shipwrecked and later obliged to trek through a sandstorm.

Shortly he comes into a region reminiscent of "Lost Horizons, and sure enough, H. B. Warner turns up as a Chinese philosopher. There is a good deal of action, especially the storming of Pekin by the Mongol tribes, but too much reelage is devoted to the Cooper-Gurie love affair. ONE OF THE STALWARTS of filmdom, Richard Dix is starred in "Blind Alibi, now showing at the Capitol theater.

He is suDpoit-ed by Whitney Bourne, Eduardo Cian-nelli, end Ace, billed as the Wonder Dog. For some 18 years, Mr. Dix has been a star and is one of the few film actors who managed to bridge gap between the silent screen and the age of the "audible cinema. He reached the peak cf his career in "Cimarron. end since then has been an infrequent p'ayer.

In "Blind Alibi. he plays a game of b'ind-man's-bluff with museum officials as he attempts to uncovtr some incriminating letters written by his sister. A blackmailer to sell the letters to a Parisian sheet. Dix's search for the letters takes him to Los Angeles, where tne letters somehow became mixed up with an assignment of antique furniture sent to a museum there. Pcs'ng as a blind man, he is permitted to handle the art objects in the museum and hopes romehow to uncover the letters.

Also searching for the letters is a gang, headed by villainous Eduardo Ciannelii. There are a good number of complications, at least one slaying and several sluggings before the letters are uncovered and Dix and Bourne embrace in the finale. Miss Bourne is assigned the role of assistant curator. Ace. the dog.
