XLVI BOYDEN, SIOUX COUNTY, IOWA, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER September 7th at the Henry FARMERS TOUR COUNTY Thirty-six Sioux county farmers participated in the Farm Management tour Wednesday, The group met Vogelaar farm, south of Maurice in the morning at which time Wallace Ogg, field- man for the association, discus- the management system carried out in Mr. Vogelaar's farm. Later in the morning the group drove to the Sam Schut farm, east of Sioux Center for a similar survey. The group then drove to the George Boerhave farm northeast of Sheldon for a picnic dinner.

Following the dinner Jack Galloway, Extension presented outlook material for the fall of 1938 and early 1939. Problems of management on Mr. Boerhave's farm were discussed by Mr. Ogg. This is the first tour for the farm management group in Sioux county.

Each county in Northwest Iowa is sponsoring such a tour. Mr. Ogg will be making his fall survey during the of October. CONGRATULATIONS! Harms welcomed a baby girl weighing eight pounds, at-their home on Grandma Kpr- are assisting home. Mrs.

The Brown Swiss banners" flew high in Boyden last week when John Fick returned with his pfiie herd of cattle which he exhibited at the Iowa Sfate Fair Moin-es -and the Fair at Cedar Rapids. He walked off with eleven premiums, competing the largest group of Brown Swiss cattle ever entered at a fair in Iowa. Fick and his sons have done their level best to raise the breeding stands in pure-bred cattle, and the results of. his efforts are evident.
