Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1991 an LOCAL I ne Californian OBITUARIES 1 YOUR WINNING WAYS' Jerome E. Blumenthal, former Salinas jeweler A native of Atkms, Mr. l-amb lived Salmas for 25 years. He was a retired pipe fitter, and a member of Prunedale Baptist Chureh and the Pipefitters Union Local 669.

Mr. Lamb is survived by his wife, Barbara Lamb of Salinas; two sons, James Lamb of Redding and Danny Lamb of Santa Nell three stepsons, Carl L. Boyer and Richard Boyer, both of Salinas, and Ed Baker Jr. of Chicago; four stepdaughters, Denise Smith and Delores Cates, both of Salinas, Marie Wright of Red Bluff, and Louise Sharp of Redding; three half sisters. Mary Johnson of Arkansas, Edna Walker of Indiana, and Carla Kase of Colorado; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Healey Mortuary, Services will be held at 1 1 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Prunedale, 17716 Pcsante Road. Private burial will be held in the Pajaro Valley Memorial Park in Watsonville. Jerome E.

Blumenthal of St. Paul. died Nov, 5 following a long illness. He wax 73. A native of St.

Paul, Mr. Blumenthal was a jeweler who lived in Salinas many years. He managed Good-friends on South Main Street and opened his own store on Midtown Lane in 1961. After retiring, he moved to Redwood City. He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Blumenthal is survived by his wife, Tobie Blumenthal of St. Paul; two sons, Steve Blumenthal of Salinas and Gene Blumenthal of San Carlos; and a granddaughter. Funeral serviees were Friday in Minnesota. Funeral arrangements were by Hodross and Sons of St.

Carrillo, son of Victoria Cortez of Salinas, recently graduated with honors from recruit training. The 1990 graduate of North Salinas High School joined the Navy in June 1991. Awards The Board of Trustees of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Youth Fund presented Viscaps of Salinas, an organization for the blind and visually impaired, a grant for $500 to be used toward transportation expenses. Education Willie Signorelli of Salinas was named Student of the Phase in Fundamentals of Refrigeration course at Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. The award is given to the student who has the best record of academic achievement, lab performance and attendance, and is a means of encouraging excellence and initiative.

Signorelli attended North Monterey County High School. Troy A. Adams is enrolled for the fall semester at the Oklahoma State University, Okumlgce, in the food service manage-mentbaking department. She is a 1989 graduate of Monterey High School and a student at the University of California, Davis. Navy Seaman Recruit Don Barber, son of Wayne V.

Barber of Salinas, recently completed training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego. Barber is a 1990 graduate of Alisal High School and he joined the Navy in June 1991. Marine Pfc. Salvador Pacheco, son of Jesus and Rosa Pacheco of King City, recently completed the Basic Electricians Course. He is a 1990 graduate of King City High School.

Airman Kevin M. Alioto graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Alioto is the son of Susan Alioto infant iv survived by three brothers, Felix Martinez Jonathan Martinez and Adrian Martinez, all of Soledad; one sister, Lisa Marie Martinez of Soledad; her maternal grandparents, I liner Delgado and Llvira Delgado of Soledad; her paternal grandmother, Felicitas Martinez of Soledad; her paternal grandfather, Frank Martinez of Soledad, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be private. Graveside services are at 11 a.m.

Wednesday in Soledad Cemetery. Whitehurst Terry Mortuary Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. William Owen, native of England William Owen of Pruncdale died Monday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 71. A native of England, Mr.

Owen lived in Monterey County for 15 years and was a resident of Santa Cruz from 1948 to 1971. Before his retirement, he was an administrator at Piazza Paving Co. He was a member of Santa Cruz Yacht Club and Elkhorn Yacht Club in Moss Landing. Mr. Owen is survived by his wife, Roberta Owen of Prunedale; two daughters, Lesley Gonzalez of Salinas and Christine Mullin of Reno, two brothers, Bruce Owen and Kenneth Owen, both of England; and Five grandchildren.

A wake will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the family residence, 7750 Roma Place, Prunedale. Ashes will be scattered at sea. Arrangements were under the direction of the California Cremation Society. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Alvin V. Lamb, retired pipe fitter Alvin V. Lamb of Salinas died Sunday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 76. wife, Grace lorred of Santa Rosa; four sons, PjviJ John Forrest of Chatham.

Palmerin of Greenfield died unexpectedly Friday at George i L. Mee Memorial Hospital in King City. She was 42. A native of Atotonileo, Jalisco, Mexico, Mrs. Palmerin lived in Monterey County for eight years.

She was co-owner of Ponchito's Restaurant in Greenfield. She was a member of Holy Trinity parish. Mrs. Palmerin is survived by her husband, Asecncion Palmerin of Greenfield; two sons, Francisco and Eduardo Palmerin of Greenfield; two brothers, Roberto Rodrigues of Hemet and Juan Rodrigues of Mexico; four sisters including Alicia Rodrigues of Pomona; her parents, Francisco Rodrigues and Esperanza Ramirez of Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews. m. to 2 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Whitehurst Terry Chapel.
