Known Business Man Long Engaged in frhe Distribution of Oil and Gasoline, Succumbs ren General Hospital Early Today SERVICES FRIDAY James L. Chapman, 410 Conewango avenue, passed away at 1:45 a. m.

today at Warren General hospital, after an extended illness caused by unavoidable complications which developed following a Mr. born June 27. 1882, in Pittsburgh, the of Thomas and Anna Chapman, and waii a lifelong member of the VVil- kinsburg Baptist church. as he was known by everyone, came lo Warren in 1918 to assume an executive position with the Oil Company. In 1920 he became associated with Oil Service, Incorporated, as secretary and treasurer. In 1928 he was in the formation of the Motor Lighthouse Corporation, and since that time he has served as its president and general manager. Mr. Chapman is survived by his widow, Ethel C.

Chapman: T. HOUGHWOl Mrs. Florence T. Houghwot passed away this morning at one at the home of her sister Mrs. Gerda DeForest, 105 Conewango avenue, alter an illness of about seven weeks She had been failing in health for a year or so, being ill for weeks last fail, but had recovered sufficiently to be about the house.

She IS survived by tJiree sisters, Miss Helen A. Deoiiison and Mrs. D. B. Crouch, Sugar Grove and Mrs.

DeForest, at whose home she died; also several nieces and nephew's. Funeral services will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 and burial will be made in the Cherry Hill cemetery at Sugar Grove. Mrs. Houghwot was born March 13, 1852, near Lander, the oldest daughter of James and Rhoda Denuisou. On March 13, 1S77 she was married to Rufus K.

Houghwot, who was bora on the same day as she. They were united in marriage on their 25th birthday anniversaries. Mr. Houghwot died August 31, 1907. Their children, i Edilh and Earle, died in im'ancy.

C. R. McNeal, Charles McNeal and H. S. Roberts, of Barnes, in company with Clyde Elder, A.

S. Brown and Ed Hinkley, went into camp at Blue Jay Thursday evening, returning Saturday night. They found the fishing fine, each reporting a fine catch of trout. Mrs. Myron Miller drove in from Olean Friday evening and the following day her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. W. J. Smiley, accompanied her home for a visit. Report cards were issued to the pupils of the Barnes schools Tuesday.

Only six week of school remain. Jacob Wagoner, of Youngsville, was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. T.

over the week end. O. L. Miller, who is engaged In newspaper work at W. visited his family in town over the week end.

Gordon Titus, of Lock Haven, who is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Ford, succeeded in catching twenty-four nice brook trout while fishing in the south branch of Tionesta creek Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holden, of Mercer, spent the week end visiting friends in Barnes and Sheffield. Miss Gayle Kinney, has been employed at Jamestown, accompanied them home. Mr.
