as Real Reasons for Dissolving Marriage MR and Mrs George William Miller will entertain with a small dinner tomorrow night On the terrace at their home Sts Answered by Dorothy Ricker Mrs Kelley has returned to her home in Austin Tex after visiting Mr and Mrs Fitzgerald and other friends in Kansas City Girl Asks Help On Party Plans but there is change also in many other once-accepted standards of behavior About the second set of causes Dr Christensen commented: "If I were to put my finger on one single chief cause for divorce it would be emotional immaturity in the individual Humans are biologically ready for marriage before they are socially and emotionally-mature enough The chronological age isn't so important in marriage it's emotional maturity that is needed An "emotionally mature" per- son is defined by Dr Christensen as one "who is able to meet normal adult situations and who controls and is responsible for his actions" In the realm of the third set of causes he proposed more research into what he called "pair-unity" Dr Christensen and his associates at Purdue have con- ducted some studies in this field but he thinks much is still unknown about personality traits which match or clash "but I believe divorce laws need to be more realistic We need to regard divorce as a symptom of trouble It won't solve the trouble to make the divorce process more difficult or easy The real cause of divorce is not the legal grounds hatched up to get by the law Neither is the real cause the things about which couples money children These disagreemertts are symptomatic of something deeper" The professor who has con- ducted several surveys on the relationships of the sexes listed three of what he calls "sets of real causes" for divorce: Sick society Adolescent adults Disharmonious duo On the first Dr Christensen noted that the world is in a period of transition in which values are in conflict Not only are ideas about marriage relationships changing from an autocratic form in which the man was czar to a more democratic one in which women are equals he said no Please give us some advice He is going away to Wyoming 'next week Do you think
