A study unveiled last year by a group at Rutgers University, calls for the pipeline to travel through existing right of ways when on land. The study further explores hypothetical points at "which the pipeline could come ashore. The four points, Jacobson said, were suggested only for study.

Chosen for their various characteristics, they include Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Sea Isle City and Island Beach State Park. Asbury Park was chosen for its urban characteristics. Island Beach for it pristine nature and because it is a state owned park, Atlantic City because it is an urban center abutted by wetlands and Sea Isle City was chosen because it is a marsh area inhabitied only during the summer months. The study goes through the various areas' and explores the problems that could be associated with each. A seperation plant, which seperates the gas from liquids in the line, could locate on a 20-acre site.

He said a suitable location would be significantly larger to allow for buffer for the plant.
