Boone, for many years a justice of the peace in Kingston, died last evening of heart trouble, at the age of 70 years. The deceased wa3 born in Huntington township. In young manhood he lived for a short time in Kansas.

During the Civil War he served for four years In the Union army. After the war, he lived in Bloomsburg, and ten years later he moved to Kingston. He was elected burgess of that town and since 1S77 has continuously held the office of Justice. Mr. Boone's family was descended from the, noted Kentucky hum er, Daniel Boone.

Major George R. Lennard, of Wilkesbarre, died yesterday. He bad been in ill health for two years, and for several weeks past his condition had beer serious. Major Lennard was born in Philadelphia in 1S27. He settled in Wilkesbarre in 1856 and was engaged in mercantile pursuits until the opening of the Civil War.

Then he recruited Co. Fifty second regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, and went to war. At Fair Oaks, in 18G2, he was twice wounded. Returning to the service, ho was promoted to the position of major in the Fifty second regiment. He was mustered out in 1867, having seen six years of military service.

Major Lennard came of a family that achieved military fame. Hl3 grandfather served in the war 0(1812. For more than 40 years he hadr been a member of the Episcopal chtirch. The funeral will take place' on Monday. Summer complaint is unusually prevalent among children this season.
