Robert G. Hooke Chairman Of Radcliffe Fund's Area Council Mrs. Robert G. Hooke of Highland Upper Montclair, has been named chairof the northern New Jersey Council of the Radcliffe Development Fund, a ten-year drive to raise $10,000,000 for building and endowment purposes at the college. Northern New Jersey shares in the Greater New York goal of 600,000 in 1960 and $2,700,000 in 1965.

Radcliffe has received or been pledged $4,000,000 of its total as of March 5. Associated with Mrs. Hooke is her council of Mrs. Robert Kavesh, Upper Montclair; Mrs. Arnold Lerner, Tenafly; Mrs.

The dance, to be held at the Montclair Golf Club, will honor the sixty-five Catholic young women from New Jersey who were presented to Archbishop Thomas A. Boland of Newark at the Presentation Ball in Newark on Jan. 3. Thirteen of the debutantes are from Montclair, three from Verona and one from Glen Ridge.

Dinner will be served at 7 P.M. and music for dancing will be furnished by Johnny An all-out effort has been made this week to rally all New Jersey alumnae, graduate students and parents to the support of the campaign. Three meetings have been held in the Montclair, Summit, and Englewood areas. from 9 until 1 o'clock. The junior committee will arrange for the program of novelty dances and other entertainment.

Mrs. Caggiano is general chairman and Mrs. Burke is co-chairman of the event. Mrs. Burke will entertain the committee members at a meeting and tea at her home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Phillis Wheatley Club Hears Pansy Borders About twenty-five Montclair residents attended the meeting of the Phillis Wheatley Literary Club Monday evening when Miss Pansy Borders, social worker in the Guidance Department of the Newark School System, was the speaker.

Her subject was "A Trip Around the World in Thirty Days." The meeting was held in St. Philip's parish house, Newark. Miss Borders went around the world after attending the fourteenth world convention of Christian Education in Tokyo which was sponsored last Summer World Council of Churches. She represented the Baptist Convention, N. J.

Division of Churches and N. J. Council of Churches. The Phillis Wheatley Club was founded fifty years ago by a group of Negro women in Newark who were interested in literature, and grew to include residents in this area. The late Mrs.
