(JP) The stock market today fought inertia to record another sizeable run of modest gains In speculative lead Bidding, seemingly inspired by yesterday's mild upturn, got the list off to a fairly good start. The initial improvement was generally well maintained, although some Issues slipped from the best at the finish. There was also a small assortment of losses.

Handicap to progress was a tapering of commitments which put the day's turnover at around 400, 000 shares, or well under Tuesday's, The only favorable reduction drawn by brokers from the dullness was that it indicated current international tension and fears of further federal restrictions on business were not, at least at this stage, forcing important liquidation of share holdings. Advances mostly were limited to fractions but a few stocks picked up a point or so. Boeing registered a 1941 peak. Rail loans colored a bond market recovery. The Moscow radio declared So viet troops also had captured Shahpur, 80 miles west of Tabriz; Arde btl. 120 east of Tabriz, near the Caspian, and Lisar, on the same front.
