Crawford County PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. Challenger Phillip Mueller Appleton voters oppose overturning ban APPLETON, Wis. (AP) A proposal to overturn a ban on smoking in workplaces was rejected by Appleton voters Tuesday. Complete unofficial returns showed the proposal was rejected, 11,559 to 8,674, indicating 57 percent support for the ban. The ban took effect July 1, but some tavern owners said it caused them financial difficulties because patrons were going to bars in other communities where smoking was allowed.

The referendum vote approving the ban last April had been 9,276 to 7,551. We're proud to say we've employed more people, sold more homes, moved more cars, cleaned more garages than anyone in town. f-H 1 LACROSSE Tribune (SDGGGnOBedl The one that works! without leaving your living room, DRIVE get advice from Click Clack and much more THURSDAYS AND SUNDAYS.
