Lat er, Drummond learns the girl was kidnaped and was trying to escape. 4 NBC Opera Theater (O Verdi's opera, "La Traviata" in English will be the final production of the NBC Opera Company's eighth season.

The story of "La Traviata" is a classic romance in con. stant public favor. Verdi's opera is based on the play "Ca-mille" by Alexandre Dumas, fils. Numerous productions of the play in the country, including the memorable film with Greto Garbo, won enthusiastic audiences. Piave's libretto for the opera fol lows the play closely, making some deletions mainly to speed the action.

The princi pal roles will be sung by Elaine Malbin as Violetta, John Alexander as A redo 'Germont and Igo Gorin as the Elder Germont.
