Dave will be sadly missed by those close to him: his loving sister Edith McMullin (Cape Breton); his dear friend for the past 26 years Thelma McDonald; Thelma's daughter Lynn (Jim) Earle and the two children that know him as Grandpa -Kent and Melanle Earle. Twenty-one years ago Melanle was the first Infant Dave ever held from then on they shared a special bond. Dave will also be remembered by his sister-in-law. David was 'the King' with a gentle and endearing personality. His humor was loved and appreciated by everyone. Dave had a full ana colourful life. As a young teen he ran with Johnny Miles, a long distance runner from Cape Breton who twice won the famed Boston Marathon. At the age of 17, David started his professional Boxing career.

He traveled throughout Canada and the United States. He met, fought and became friends with many well-known boxers of the 30's. At the age ot 20 he won the Canadian Welterweight Championship. At 25 he ended his career but was always proud that he was never 'knocked out' Dave was known as a dependable hard worker. He was soon hired by Noranda Mines and became a site superintendent responsible for traveling to remote areas, hiring a crew and setting up mines.

He was also an avid curler. Winning the Northern Ontario finals. He moved to Saskatoon in the early 80s where he met Thelma at the Mayfalr Lawn Bowling club. They became dear friends and entered Lynn, Kent and Melanle's life. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Luthercare Community Home where Grandpa lived since 2002.
