Joe passed away peacefully at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on July 3, 2008. Joe was born February 2, 1930 in Niederbrunst, Germany. Joe came to Canada July 11, 1954, and settled in the Cudworth district with his uncle, Joe Schreiner, Sr and his family. In he married Eleonore (Elly) Lobl, and together they raised 5 children.

Joe was 11056. very active in his community sitting as a town council member for many years and Fire Chief for approximately twenty years. He was a charter member of the Cudworth Lions Club, and much of his life was spent in service to the Lions. Joe held the Lions organization close to his heart, and was instrumental in founding the Lions Eye Bank of Saskatchewan, the Lions Journey for Sight, Sask 100, and sat as the District 5CN Governor in 1982. He was also a member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Association.

Joe operated Saxinger Motors from the 1960's to 1982, when he retired for the first time. With his hard work he built up one of the most successful CASE implement dealerships in the country achieving top sales man for North America for three years and top ten for sixteen more years. During this time, he took up flying, which was a passion of his. He owned several airplanes, and could be found delivering parts, or buzzing farmyards throughout the province. Joe stopped logging his flying hours many years ago, when he reached the 5,000 hour mark.

From 1986-1992, he was very proud to serve the constituents of Kinistino as MLA in the Grant Devine Government. He got back into the farm machinery business from 1992 until 2004, with Saxinger Farm Parts Implements in Cudworth. In 1996, Joe, along with several partners, purchased the former CFS Dana radar base, and formed Sagehill Buffalo Ranch, which he managed until his death. In 2006, Joe married Delphine Nielsen, and enjoyed living out his final years with her at the ranch, participating in the Saskatoon Farmers Market several times a week, and promoting his newest venture, Louisiana Grills. One thing you could say about Joe, was that he was passionate about anything he became involved with.

Joe leaves to mourn, his wife, Delphine (nee his children, Catherine Mazurkewich (Garry), Thomas (Susan), Barbara Lepitzki, Heide Kolla (Darrell), and Elizabeth Miazga (Bernard), and their mother Eleonore, Grandchildren Laura Scheidl (Sheldon) daughter Sydney, Anna-Marie Baumann (Dallas) and son Lucas, Justin Saxinger, Michael Lepitzki (Jessica) and children Ava Isaac, Matthew Mark Lepitzki, Maria, Stefan, and Gregory Kolla, Jessica, Helanna, and Patrick Miazga. 3 brothers (Hans, Walter, and Erwin) and their families in Canada, 2 brothers (Ludwig Helmut) and 3 sisters (Maral, Kathi, Gisella) and their families in Germany.
