PITTSTON, PA. ON NORTH ST. BRIDGE Consideration of the proposed North street bridge at Wilkesbarre and widening of. North street with prob lems of grades, costs, property damage and traffic probleais by She' judges.

county and city off icials today resulted in a lengthy discussion In which several confictlng views were expressed, and finally the meeting was adjourned until Monday, July 2 at 9 a m. when the engineers Will preser Some of Judges and controlle Solicitor Valentine suggested bulldt a bridge that would have its eastd terminus at Darling street, cross River street above grade and tl eliminating the necessity for an ext' blve cat In the preseht North and plans showing that situation will be produced. The conference was attended by Judges Fuller, Garman and McLean, County Commissioners Meixell and Gallagher, Solicitor Dando, Schmitt and Solicitor Valentino, County Engineer Rosser and Bridge Engineers Young and Wintermute, City Commissioner Schuler, Solicitor McHugh, Engineer Finch, Borough Solicitor B. W. Davis, of Kingston, and a number of others.

As there was some uncertainty over the traffic plans of the Wilkesbarre Railway Co. and what effect the hew bridge would have on Market street traffic, it was agreed to continue the conference on July 2, when additional plans and information would be pro duced. Solicitor Dando stated that the approval of the court was necessary so that borings could be made for the piers and. abutments. In answer to questions the solicitor stated that the new Market street bridge project had not been abandoned, but that the North street bridge was the more urgent and had to be built first, a the present bridge was inadequate and dangerous for heavy traffic.

Judge Garman said he was opppsed to the Market street bridge, that no bridge should be built that would be wider than the street. Solicitor Mc Hugh explained that Market street from the Square to River was to be widened three feet and that the Traction Co. would be given permission to lay double tracks on the street. Afterwards tho judges took up the consideration of a dozen roads, which the county proposed to take over and improve. The county tuberculosis hospital was also discussed.
