Deaths 1000 JOHNSON Berthuld Thomas Johnson, faithful servant of Jesus Christ, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 19,2006 with his wife and family at his side. He was 88 years old. Bert is lovingly remembered by Greta, his wife of 65 years, and seven children: Wendy (Art) Newsham children Susan (Scott), Rob (Kelly) and Ann (Steve); Wayne (Marge) and children Jenny (Phil), Ellick (Nicole) and Karla (Aaron): Will (Cheryl) and children Shane (Nicole), Jeremy (Crystal), Autumn (Shaun), Breeann Johnson; Ede (Aron) May and children Darcia (Wayne) and Darren; Paul (Laura) and children Elisa (Alex), Luke (Tricia), Corinne and Matt; Jean Pfeifer children Katie, Jayme and Julie and their dad Joe; and Melvin (Trudy) and children Curtis, Kevin, Christopher and Colin and their mother Sharon; and 18 great grandchildren. Bert was predeceased by parents Thomas and Emma Johnson, brother Tommy and son-in-law Evans Griffith.

He is survived by two sisters, Eileen Dolden and Iris Goodfellow, Toronto. Bert was born in Galetta ON March 11, 1917. His parents moved to Asquith, SK in 1918. Bert grew up on a farm in the Avondale district. He owned and operated the McCorkle garage and lighting plant in Maymont in 1940.

He married Greta McMillan, Juniata SK on Oct. 19, 1940. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1942 and was stationed in Bagotville, PQ and Halifax, NS as a link trainer technician. While in Halifax, Bert sensed God's call and chose to become a pastor. After the war Bert and Greta moved to Saskatoon.

In 1950 Bert graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a BA. After a summer pastorate in Torch River, SK he took a temporary pastorate in North Battleford at First Baptist Church. Fifty years later he retired from Christian ministry in the same church. Bert's ministry included pastoring, evangelistic work and tract distribution in the Prairie provinces, the News for the Nation newspaper and radio program on CJNB, a boarding school in Battleford for Indian children and a church camp near Prongua, SK. As a bivocational pastor Bert owned and operated Dominion Concrete and BT Johnson Scales.

He was an inventor with several patents to his credit. He was a faithful husband and father and took delight in his extended family. His greatest love was God. His favorite book, the Bible. His greatest discovery was justification by faith.

His greatest passion, introducing others to Jesus Christ. The family is grateful to Pastor Ron Braun and the caring family of Community Baptist Church. Thanks also to Dr. Jim Johnson, the Battlefords Home Care personnel and the third floor staff of the Battlefords District Care Centre for kind, compassionate care. Bert will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves family and friends a legacy of generosity and humility. His hard work and compassion demonstrated his strong faith in God. His family fondly remembers their dad's favorite benediction, "Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. DYCK Emma Dyck formerly of Martensville passed away at the Warman Special Care Home on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the age of 89 years. EATONS DOELL Peter passed into paradise with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the age of 81. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. at Gruenthal Cemetery followed by the Funeral Service on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in Elim Tabernacle on 8th Street. Best known in the city as the friendly Eaton's delivery man, he enjoyed his retirement watching his grandchildren and great-grandchild grow.

He will be missed by his wife of 61 years, Mary; and Mui Mach 1947 2006 Mui passed away peacefully Thursday, January 19th, 2006 at Royal University Hospital, Coronary Care Unit, Saskatoon SK. Mui is remembered by her husband and son, sisters and brother. The family expresses a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Royal University Hospital for their concern, care, thoughtfulness and dedicated service. Deaths 1000 GRANT Emma, Eleanor Grant of Edmonton, AB passed away on January 20, 2006. She was born in the home of her parents, Earle and Muriel Nutting at Radisson, SK on October 29, 1933.

She is survived by her daughters Sherry (Kirby) Graeme of Richmond, B.C. and their children Benjamin, Matthew and Alyssa, and Leigh-Ann (Terry) McLean of Edmonton, AB and their sons Justin, Daniel and Timothy. She is also survived by her brother. Brosi (Noella). Nutting of Saskatoon, SK and her nieces, Melany Tracey, Brenda Spearman, Stephanie Nutting Victoria Nutting all of Ontario; Kristine Nutting of Edmonton, Jacqueline Nutting Ann Arbor, MI and Rachelle McLeod of Spruce Grove, and various grand nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Ottewell United Church, 6611 93A Avenue, Edmonton on Monday, January 23. 2006 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, the Canadian Mental Health Association, or the charity of one's choice. Paul Sapieha May 10, 1921 January 20,2006 It is with great sorrow, that the family of Paul Sapieha announces his sudden passing on Friday January 20.

Paul was born and raised on a family farm in the Krydor district. He met his first wife Pauline in grade school and they married in 1945. In 1958 they moved to Saskatoon where he worked as a carpenter while continuing to farm until he retired in 1988. Pauline died in 1970. Paul then married Hazel Bisal in 1973.

Together they enjoyed travelling and gardening. Paul was a hard working, humble man with a deep faith in God. He was a good friend to those who knew him and we will miss his sense of humour, kindness and gentle nature. Paul is lovingly remembered by his wife Hazel, children Lawrence (Linda), Elaine (Jerry) Stadnyk, Ron (Vonnie), Ken (Donna) stepson Marvin Bisal. He is also remembered by 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren and 3 step-greatgrandchildren.

He also is remembered by his three sisters Tilly Charko, Mary Michayluk, Emily Lesyk and brother John (Janette). Paul was predeceased by his parents Katherine and Joseph Sapieha, his first wife Pauline, brothers-in-law Walter Charko, Nick Michayluk, and step-daughter-in-law Marga-2006 ret Bisal. Prayers will be held on Tuesday January 24 at 7pm and the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday January 25 at 10am by Rt. Rev. Vladimir Mudri and Rev.

Bryan Bayda C.S.s.R.. Both services will be held at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. In memory of Paul, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. She was 84 years of age. (Laura) Duguid of Regina, SK. Vi was predeceased by her husband, Dave Duguid. A Public Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. from Funeral Chapel, Humboldt. The Funeral Service for Vi will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.

SCHAFHAUSER It is with sadness the family of Beatrice announces her sudden passing on Friday, January 20, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Heitt; her brothers, Leo, Wilfred and Clarence; her infant sister Alice; her brother-inlaw Mike Runka; her father and mother-in-law John and Thekla Schafhauser: her brothersin-law John, Anton, Joe, Leonard and Alfred Schafhauser and John Zimmer: and her sisters-in-law Hilda and Bertha. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George, and sons; Richard (Marlene) of Lake Lenore and their family, Amanda of Esterhazy, SK and Aaron of Kinuso, AB. the grandchildren that she very much enjoyed; and Gordon of Edmonton, AB; her brothers, Raymond and Don (Olga) Heitt: her sisters, Bernice Runka and Jean (Ed) Lindgren and their families; sisters-in-law, Kay and Annette Heitt, Luella Zimmer, and Doris (Gabe) Lukac, Bertha Schafhauser, and families. Beatrice was born August 11.

1923 at Tramping Lake, SK. On October 17th, 1944 she married George and they lived and farmed at Landis. In 1979, they moved to Saskatoon. For several years, Mom enjoyed bowling and has several trophies to show for her skills. She also enjoyed traveling, making several trips throughout Canada and the USA as well as Europe and Hawaii.

While living at Landis, she enjoyed their cabin at Cochin and, in more recent years, camping at Emma Lake. At home, she enjoyed her flowerbeds and cooking. The Vigil for Beatrice will be held on Monday, January 23, at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 24th, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. from St.

Patrick's Roman Catholic Church (3339 Centennial Saskatoon). The Celebrant will be Fr. Ken Beck. Cremation to follow the service with interment at a later date. Donations in Beatrice's memory can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation (279 Third Ave.
