Mom was born near Laird, Saskatchewan, on April 13, 1918.

The second oldest of six children, she grew up on a farm in the close knit rural community of Tiefengrund. In 1942, she married Eric Neufeldt, our Dad, a young teacher who had grown up in the same area. They lived in a number of Saskatchewan communities, including Carrot River, Hague, Langham, Kindersley and Regina. Always a sociable and hospitable person, she enjoyed meeting people and easily made friends. Upon Dad's retirement in 1973, they moved to Saskatoon to be close to their children.

During this time, they enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren, several trips, their cabin at Weyakwin Lake, and participation in church and community activities. One of her favorite sports was curling and she played in several leagues. Mom remained an avid curling fan throughout her lifetime, recently purchasing a new high definition TV for greater quality analysis and viewing. Always up for the challenge, while in her fifties, she learned to ride a bicycle and swim. Sadly, she lost the love of her life when our Dad died from cancer in 1982.

Mom coped well with the adjustment to being a widow and in the years that followed, she found a new sense of individuality and independence. Throughout her life she demonstrated genuine compassion, caring, acceptance and love for her many friends and family. Mom is lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her three children and their families: Orv and El Neufeldt and their children, Kerri (Tim) Juliet and Eric, Marty (Krista) Brock and Luke; Jean Wiens and her children, Peter (Kendra), Amanda and her children; Larry and family: Darcy and Justin (Shayla) and Ashlee; Warren; Rod; lan (Tammy), Katie and Cole; Holly (Corrado); and their father Ernie Wiens; Bob and Margaret Neufeldt, Billy (Kristine), Shauna, Andrew (Lisa), Andrea (Chris) and Kellen, Evan. Mom is also survived by her brother, Abe Funk, her sister Selma a Enns, and sisters-in-law, Kay Funk, Irene Funk and Liesbeth Neufeldt; and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mom was predeceased by her husband, Eric Neufeldt, her parents, John and Paula Funk, brother and sister-in-law Verner and Olga Funk, brothers Eric Funk and Walter Funk; Helene Funk; brother-in-law John Enns. In the Neufeldt family she was Eliese, predeceased brothers by and parents sisters Peter Art and Anna, Walter and Peter and Marie, Hugo, Fred and Emilie. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Karen Marushak, Esther and Stim Guimbaton, and the staff of Central Haven Special Care Horne, for their kind care giving in the last few years of Mom's life. Mom's funeral service will be held on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 1:30 P.M.

at First Mennonite Church, 418 Queen St, Saskatoon. Interment take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are made in care of Funk's Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK (232-5245).
