1927 in Leask to Charles Cuelenaere and Marie Cuelenaere (nee Vertnest). He attended school at the Convent of St. Louis for the first year to learn French and Catechism. The re mainder of his schooling was taken in Leask. He quit school at an early age to start farming with his father, Charles and older brother, Val-ere.

The first Farmall tractor and International truck were more inviting than the school text books. Farming in those days consisted of having cattle, pigs, chickens, and purchasing more land with some clearing to be done requiring laborious work. In later years, Valere and Andrew went strictly grain growing which was very successful. It was a big blow to Andrew when Valere passed away suddenly on May 30. 1991.

In 1972, Valere and Andrew made a trip to Belgium, the birthplace of their parents, and got acquainted with relatives and kept up the relationship. Winter holidays consisted of trips to Hawaii, Arizona, Texas and Victoria. In summer, there was always a fishing trip. It always proved fruitful, even if the fish weren't biting, they came home with some fish be it a few cans of sardines. Andrew was very mechanically minded doing most of the welding and repairing of machinery.

Andrew was a good neighbor and friend. He enjoyed picking up his friends to take them out for a meal, a hockey game or an evening at home for a card game. Reading was also one of his past-times. Family was also a big part of his life. He enjoyed his nieces, great nieces and nephews.

He was always included for the festive seasons. In June, Andrew made a trip to Michigan for the ordination of a cousin into priesthood for which he was very thankful. An drew had a good sense of humor, always a smile on his face even during his illness. When asked how he was doing, he would say, "ter Andrew will sadly be missed and lovingly re membered by his sister, Madeleine Phaneuf; brother-in-law, Louis Phaneuf, North Battle-ford, SK; nieces, Claire (Leo) Cadrain.
