Morns DeTurk, of Oley, spoke about the current Salvation Army campaign for funds in building the new Citadel, in Reading. Mrs. DeTurk is chairman of committee sponsoring a card party, by the inter-county posts, which will be held in Fleetwood. The net receipts will be turned over to the Salvation Army. Members of the Legion voted to donate $25 toward the Salvation Army drive.

The committee added about $414,000,000 to the total in the bill approved by the House Aug. 26 by a vote of 310 to 1. The House bill would provide $16,771,000,000. The Senate figure was fixed tentatively at pending recapitulation of last-minute changes made by the committee.

Senator McKellar committee chairman, reported the bill immediately to the Senate, which probably will begin debate on it tomorrow. Speedy passage is expected.
