WYOMING MRS. ELIZABETH SOMERS CLAIMED BY DEATH Mrs. Elizabeth Somers, widow of Henry A. Somers, aged 86 years, a resident of Miner's Mills for 69 years, died last night at six o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William J.

Roberts, 45 West Fourth street, following a year's illness. She was a member' of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are the following chil dren: Mrs. Edwin R. Roberts, of Kingston; Mrs William J.

Roberts, of Wyoming; Raymond Somen, of Forty Fort; two sisters, Mrs. Lamen H. Thompson, of Clarksburg, W. and Mrs. Sarah E.

Prater, of Forty Fort; and a brother, Thomas Brew, of Plains. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clsck. Services will be conducted by Rev. Leon K. Willman, pastor of the First M.

E. Church, WUkesbarre. Interment will be to Mt. Greenwood cemetery. CHRISTMAS SERVICE AT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH A Christmas program will be pre sented in the Wyoming Presbyterian Church Sunday evening at 7:30 clock under the direction of Charles Seward Button.

A defective chimney caused a fire in the attic. Mrs. Peter Gilroy, of Grove street, le ill at her home. Miss Doris Hastie, a student at Perm State College, is home to spend the Christmas holidays. The funeral of Thomas Nealls will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30 o'clock: from the home, 1212 North Main street.

A solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated at, 10 o'clock in St. Mary's R. C. Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

The Avoca public schools closed today and the Parochial schools closed yesterday for the Christmas recess. FIRE IN SHAMOKIN Shamokln, Dec. 21. Fire threatened the Raker building in fie heart of Shamokln's business district before firemen brought the blaze un der control.
